    Default Sneezing cats

So I have two male cats and lately they have been sneezing a lot. Otherwise they seem healthy. They are eating, using the box and playing like normal. The only change is my Mother in law and boyfriend smoke like chimney's. Do you think they have allergies or should I be worried?

^ smoke probably has something to do with it but things should even out after your mother in law leaves.

I had a sneezy cat once. Vet said it was a cold...just like people get. I gave him benadryl on the vet's recommendation. BIG MISTAKE. That 1/4 teaspoon of benadryl got gagged and coughed up into gallons of pink foam all over my apartment.

Its probably the smoke..its irritating them and making them sick. I'd tell MIL to keep her smoking outside the house. It's YOUR house...and shes making your pets sick. YOU have the right to dictate the rules.

^^ Agreed, your cats' health should come before someone else's bad habit. Cats do get colds just like humans though, so if it doesn't get better they might need some anti-biotics from the vet just to help it along.

    Two stories:
    1) My friends cat was sneezing all the time. Turned out he had FIV. They put him down a few months later because of his suffering that started out as sneezing.

    2) Happy story: My original cat lived 19 years before she just went to sleep and never woke up. She lived 19 years in a smoke infested house with hardly any ventilation with my grandma. She didn't have a thing wrong with her until she fell asleep that fateful day.

Anyways, my point was that the cats should be checked for FIV and be vaccinated for them as well.

I just posted on this topic in this forum; my thread is called Smoking up your Kitty.

Basically they breathe it and they lick if off their fur too. A doubly whammy. Remember, take care of your little buddies; they really do love you.

I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

My cat sneezes a lot. The vet said it's probably a herpes virus kinda thing that a lot of cats have but usually there are no symptoms. 1/2 teaspoon of L-Lysine in the food once a day has helped.

And if the sneezing started with the smoking, then you know it's because of that. Tell them to smoke outside anyway!! Second hand smoke is even more dangerous to animals than humans. But this is important for your health too.
