There was a jerk in my nursing school, and he's finally flunked out. I am silently rejoicing, as the thought of him treating sick people made me cringe.
The guy, L, is from a country where women do not have equal rights. He's also in his 30s and from the generation before feminism really took off. He could never get it into his thick skull that he is in a country where you can't just shoot off you mouth just because you're a MAY-UNN, especially towards women.
For example, the sexist pig would frequently say things like, "Nursing is a women's job. I'd be a doctor, but I have to get citizenship here." Uh, you're surrounded by lots of women and some men who are proud to be nurses, Mr. Foot-in-Mouth. During OBGYN, he'd talk disparagingly about unwed mothers and how immoral they were, and how they'd be dealt with accordingly back in his country. In psychiatric nursing, when we learned of eating disorders, he recalcitrantly stated that they did not exist. Like I said, I cringed at the thought of him being around patients.
If you're going into the medical field for the money, fine. However, at least feign compassion while you're on the job. Also, you have to keep your mouth shut in this country. It's illegal to do things like tell a cancer patient that he's being punished for not believing in God, or tell a young girl with HPV that she's a slut.
Anyhoo, I consider his being booted from the nursing program to be a benefit to humanity. Also, before I'm accused of being racist, there are 2 other men in my class from the same country who are doing very well and are very polite.

It makes you overlook certain character flaws and bad behavior .
