Default Weight loss success so far!!

Iv been gymming since I was like 16 - always been a curvy girl with hips and thighs. I used to devote my gym time to a 45 min powerful elliptical workout and a selection of weights - and never saw much change. Yeah I was toned etc but never really lost the love handles or any excess flab. The last 5/6 weeks I got it in my head for some random reason that I wanna run a half marathon for charity. The training isn't necessarily more gruelling than the 45 min elliptical was - it leaves me equally as out of breath. But The fat is melting off of me! I've lost 14lbs so far - 1 stone, and instead of hitting a plateau it keeps dropping! Im following a marathong training routine and running just makes me feel amazing at the moment. People I havent seen in ages are commenting on the weight loss and people I see daily are noticing too! It feels amazing, I just feel slinky. Im still a curvy gal, always will be but the problems areas (hips n thighs) are slimming ever so nicely I can't stop smiling! And my eating isn't necessarily strict!! I eat brown pasta, pesto (basil is very very good for cardiovascular health), not as much meat as I used to, but then I'll have my 1 (most times 2 ) cheat days a week too, where I'l visit my good ol friend Nandos or have a nice curry. So I'm totally not depriving myself. I'm eating what I want, in smaller portions, when I want, just kicking ass at the gym running.

The running goes as follows: (for anyone interested in taking it up)

Mon - 30 mins steady running, 5 min cool down
Tue - 20 mins High intensity running (60 sec sprint, 60 sec recovery), 5 min cool down
    wed - rest
thurs - 40 mins steady running, 5 min cool down
friday - 30 mins running (choice steady or HIIT)
    sat rest
    sunday - 20 min jog

And I love it! Its so exhillirating!! (sp?)

I was 160 odd lbs, and on my 5ft 6 frame, with a curvy latina figure it looked fine (i had never been short of offers )

Im now 147 and still curvy, but slimmer with it if that makes sense?!?! To top it off I've started the yasmin pill which has made me paranoid about weight gain, but so far so good, the only place I've gained is my boobies no complaints there!!!

the only thing I have noticed, and this is really weird, is the more weight I'm loosing and the more toned I am getting, the happier I'm feeling in myself, the less money I'm making at work?!?! How so?!?! One guy the other day approached me for a dance and explained how he was drinking to get the dutch courage to talk to me as he though I was the hottest girl in there. But I don't get it, why am I hearing No so often when Im looking, feeling and acting my best!!!??

    Very random!

It's probably because you've switched things up... your body was just used to the original routine. Go you with your big heart for charity and slinky body!

    Pictures?

Congratulations on the weight loss. I've been wanting to run more for awhile but haven't been able to motivate myself. I'm the same height as you and curvy as well- with the same problem areas- so this is definitely a very inspirational thread. Thank you!

As for the rejection.... I have no idea. Last Friday night, I got more compliments than I ever have from cutsomers- I tanned, worked out hard, curled my hair, did my make-up well, etc. The guys were saying the sweetest things... then rejecting me when I asked for dances. *Three* times as I walked away I heard the guys say, "She was REALLY hard to say no to." I have no idea what goes through their minds sometimes. Keep it up, though- there's a thread here where all the girls say that losing weight has helped them make more money, so eventually it should pay off.

I wanna perv out on some Babystripper pics, and maybe use them as motivation too

Maybe you're so hot you're intimidating them?? I dunno, that always seemed like a lame excuse to me but I hear people use it a lot. Maybe try smiling extra and looking real friendly, I dunno.

Yay for tone-age and weight loss though!

Congrats girlie! Good for you for busting the plateau.

I think you just inspired me to run again.

Maybe the guys you are talkiing to are low on funds? I dunno. Who knows what goes on in their heads sometimes.
