    Default Fascinators

I'm teaching a friend (Who is more business minded than I) how to make fascinators etc. with a view to selling them in markets in the summer.
I was wondering how much people are prepared to pay for them/what you think they're worth?
I've attached a few pic's (These are just random one's i've found on the internaughty, not mine).
    All opinions are appreciated.

Works for me. The great thing about fascinators is they cost fuckall to make and you can sell them for $25-$40.

Facinators are huge on the burlesque and vintage scene. Aother thing thats relatively easy to make and costs alot to buy are mini top hats, go on ebay and mostly they are way overpriced. I'd say for a facinator you could charge anywhere between £5-30, which I think is about 10-60 $

    That sounds lovely.

I have them all over my room and my mother is always yelling at me everytime she comes over because they're supposed to be unlucky.

Unlucky? I've never heard that before, why are they unlucky?

Just some superstition about having peacock feathers in your house being unlucky. Luckily I ain't superstitious.

I'd pay 15-20 for the peacock one- b/c they sell peacock feathers for 1$ at zoo/theme parks, so I'm sure you could order them for less.

The orange one I'd pay up to 25-30$ for, but only if it was a different color.

Cool, so, some of these are going for anywhere between $20 - 400 (Yes, I'm serious), the pricier ones are usually made with vintage materials or something else fancy. I'm calculating mine at materials + $8 an hour labour * %100, so the last one I made with black feathers, peacock feathers and swarovski crystals would be $62 about. (I don't have any pic's, they're living at my friends house cos she put up the cash for materials). Do you think this is reasonable?

I think they're cute and I'd probably buy a few. I didn't even know what they were until I clicked the links, I'm from Texas. Are they just not real big in America or have I been living under a rock? Anyhow, I'd pay the prices that have been mentioned!

I think $62 is actually pretty reasonable, esp if its made with swarovski.

I would order one.... but personally I would prefer a less ostentaious one... mayb a couple cute flowers, or some white feathers? I would order in the 30 dollar range or more if I loved it.

Those were just examples I found quickly. Mine tend to be a little more..... subdued? Than the orange one, or more classic I guess.

Once we get a good stock of supplies etc I'd make them to order. Lemme see if I can find some better examples.......................

    Yay, so people do!?

I don't think you're a sucker by the way, it really depends on the cost of materials etc. $125 is an average price....... In Australia anyways.
