    Default Conforming?

OK, so I have decided that I am going to invest in some Dermablend to wear over my tattoos for work. My sister yelled at me and said I was "conforming"! Well yeah, I guess I am. We all have to conform a little bit to make money I guess. In a perfect world, we would all dress how we want, act how we want, say whatever the fuck we want, and wear our hair purple if we wanted and still make a good living, but it's not a perfect world.
I need a new hustle. I have tried just about everything and it's not working. So, my new hustle is going to be some tattoo-less bare skin. I realized that the rude comments I get about my tattoos on a constant basis are bringing me down. I have tried not to let them get to me, but it's wearing on my soul. I just can't take it anymore. It's hurting my confidence....actually it's doing more than hurting it, it's totally killing it. I have lost my confidence to walk up to custys and ask for a dance, cause I am so afraid what they are going to think/say about my tattoos. If it wasn't for the guys who tip me on stage and ask for dances, I'd never make a single cent. The problem is, I don't have guys asking every night. There are nights where I need to get off my ass, work the room and hustle, and I just can't do it. I cower in the corner and drink.
Don't get me wrong, there are alot of people that love them and I don't always get negative comments, but the negative ones definately outweigh the positive.
I came to a realization that I regret my chest piece in a major way. I broke down and cried/confessed this to my husband and my sister. They were both shocked and a little displeased, but it's my life so I have to do what's right for me. That fucking tattoo has caused me way more drama and has hurt my money so much, and I never thought it would or I wouldn't have got it. To think about all the times I would have sold a VIP or gotten dances but haven't because of my chest piece, makes me sick. Like at my last club where a couple guys took two other girls we were sitting with and not me to the VIP. I remember ovehearing one guy say to the other "Lets' take them all except the one with that weird chest tattoo"
Ugh. I am going to Dillard's this week, grabbing some Dermablend and turning over a new leaf. Wish me luck.

Don't think of it as conforming.... think of it as appealing to your target market. Unfortunately a lot of guys (especially older more conservative ones) just don't like tattoos. They tend to be the ones with the money. Obviously in "real life" if you were talking to/dating a guy and he said he didn't like your tattoos, you would tell him to go fuck himself and it probably wouldn't be a guy you'd get along with anyway. But in stripperland, you have to appeal to everyone, not just the guys you like. Does that make sense?

Stripping is acting, afterall. We play a character and we must dress, act, and talk like that character. We are not being untrue to our real selves, it's just the nature of the job. You couldn't have purple hair and a chest piece to play Mary Poppins in a community theatre production. And possibly you shouldn't as _______ (ur stage name) because she doesn't have one.

    That's how I see it.

^^Yes, I am totally with both of you. It makes sense, and it's exactly how I feel.

I just hope this Dermablend stuff works. It's my only hope. If it does, I know I am on my way to better money and better days.

As the pp's wrote, it is not conforming, it is just doing what you need to do to make money!
I have large tattoos on my stomach, and at some clubs that just won't work. Other places, they love 'em!
That spray tan stuff for legs works well to cover them, but can easily rub off. Mostly, I wear outfits and lingerie that cover them up. Depending on where yours are, changing your wardrobe may well be less of a pain (and possibly less expensive) than Dermablend.

The problem is, the tattoo that's causing me problems is on my chest! (I have some on my arms but nobody ever says anything about them or even notices them) So there's really no way to hide it with clothes. I usually wear one of those white fishnet tops, and the way it glows in the blacklight, when I have it on you can't see my ink at all. But then when I lift it up or it comes of....there's my problem. I can't tell you how many times I have sold a VIP with that fishnet top on, then the minute we are back there and I take it off...total deal breaker.

All the time it's "You are a beautiful girl, but I am sorry that tattoo distracts me way too much. I am sorry"
A guy said that to me on Tuesday night, I tried to be playful/flirty/happy and say "Why are you looking at my tattoo? You should be checking out my boobs!"....his response (as he cut the dance short and paid me) was "I'm sorry, I just can't! How can you expect anyone to pay attention to your breasts with that thing in the middle of them??"

These people are so incredibly rude, but I'm very curious what is causing such aa drastic reaction. Could you post a pic?

That sucks, hon! Do a search on this site cuz there's better ways to cover tats. Flesh colored latex or fabric paint that won't rub off on costumes or customers.

    Keep your head up.

Just be careful. I used to use Dermablend a lot and it does rub off.

personally, i am not a fan of dermablend. i worked ina club where they made girls cover up tattoos larger then a business card with the stuff. it looks tacky IMO. how bad would it look on a night where you've had a few lapdances and it starts to rub off and you've not only got a large tattoo, but now you've got one under this pasty patchy layer of crap that looks like shit. i'm sorry it affects your income but half the issue is confidance. can you focus the customers attention elsewhere?

wear a top that covers your chest like a cute little french style off the shoulder dress and in lap dances, move the attention to your bum............???

Am I the only one who can't get dermablend OFF? Jeez, I have to scrub it. I think it makes a difference if you use the setting powder. It'll come off of knees and butt, because those get constantly rubbed, but I've used it to cover up calf bruises and it takes work.

Is it directly between your boobs? Or can you cover it by lifting the fishnet up, but not off? Or moving it down?

I so want to see a pic, because now I'm picturing something like evil demons frolicking across your chest.

    Ok, Dermablend SUCKS.
I just got back from Dillard's, was there forever, not a single fucking shade matched my skintone. We must have went through all of them. The closest one that we found, well I thought it might be o.k. so I bought the tube. I had had to put so much of it on to cover the tattoo that when it dried, it looked like someone smeared fucking mud all over my chest. Ugh.

I just don't know what to do. I don't want to go to work until I can figure out how to fix this problem. I need a new hustle, something that I or no one on SW has thought of before. What that is, I don't know. I'm at a loss. Everyone on here has helped me with suggestions and none of them are working.
I can't get another job right now. I just can't. It would take me forever to explain why.

Really sucks when customers think you are the most beautiful sex goddess of their dreams and want to spend all their money on you, then as soon as they see your tattoo you turn into a monster with three ugly heads and they want nothing more to do with you.

If anyone would like to see a picture of the tattoo that's ruining my life, OM me. I would love to chat.

Well I think it will only help your money if you cover the tats well. At least the chest one. Most guys who spend the money don't like tats much, especially on bodyparts like the chest.

I just saw your post about DermaBlend looking bad. I've seen plenty of girls with DermaBlend that looks weird in normal lighting but it looks ok in club lights. I think it's going to take a little experimenting, and talking with the makeup ladies to tell them you need a shade that will work under dark lighting. I've also seen many girls who use a combo of DermaBlend and bronzer to cover and even things out. Just don't rub your chest on anyone, especially their clothes.

Also, can you wear some type of top that will expose breasts but hide the tattoo? A cupless corset or something?

That's the thing, we tried almost all the shades. I even explained to the lady that I have yellow undertones to my skin, that I will be working in dark lighting, etc....I didn't leave anyting out. None of them worked. I am going to do more research in Hustle Hut and Body Businesss for ideas.
As far as wearing something to cover, it's impossible. Any way I swing it, it will still show eventually. Of course there's alway the problem of being requested to take my top off completely in VIP.

Right now I am full of beer... and regret. Off to the web for more research.....

I'm sorry that you are having such a rough time with your tattoo.

I used to have to cover my big tattoo and I used Dermablend. I would put a fairly thick layer over it, not rubbing it in really well, just putting a coat over it. And then, after it dried, I put the Dermablend powder over it to kind of set it. It worked ok, but I hated how it looked after a few hours. Of course, my tattoo is on my back so it was hard to do it perfectly. It might be easier to cover a chest tat since you can see it.

I'd like to see a picture of your tattoo, but I don't know what OM is.
