    Default Credit card cuts

How much do you think the club takes of your credit card tips? Credit card tips include payment of time for VIP/champagne room and any extra tips on top of the original payment.

I'm hoping to get some better ideas as to how I can help restructure my clubs credit card tips system.

When the CC is ran the club charges a 10% fee to the customer for dances only. This does not apply to drink charges.

In turn we dancers lose 10% when we redeem the funny money for cash.

The club is making 20% off all CC transactions for dances. 10% from the customer and 10% from the dancers.

For example, a $200 VIP would be charged $220 on a CC. I try to get a tip to compensate for my 10% loss so usually I try to get the CC ran for $240 minimum. So, at least I'm really making $198 after I cash out, otherwise I would only be making $180.
My tip is surcharged 10% to the customer but the tip to the hosts or wait staff is not.

    Hopefully that makes sense?

Yea that makes sense. Its a bit different where I work. Out of every $100 we get $60-70. I know the 60-7 is weird but flow with me here. So on a more expensive show we would charge $320 and club keeps $120 of that. Then we get a check of whatever left over CC tips we have and get 10% taken out of that.

    Example:
If I only made $200 in those CC tips I can use part of those tips to pay for the house fee which is $60-80. We also don't tip out. $200- $80 = $120 - 10% = $108.
Its nice we get to use them to pay for our house fee but I feel were getting screwed.

I really want to see how other clubs do it so I can make some suggestions.

Sorry I can't help, but can you believe my club doesn't even take credit cards? WTF. We don't have a private room either. Big spenders get all confuzzled and leave in search of greener pastures. I want to be 21 so I can try out some of the other decent SD clubs.

My club used to take 10% from the customer and then charge 10% for the funny money redeeming, but they have since changed it. Now the full 20% charge is passed onto the customer and us dancers get the full face value in cash.

I guess many dancers were trying to get the customers ot take out more to make up for their 10% loss, and this seems to work better for everyone. If a customer is willing to take money off a credit card for a girl, chances are the 20% extra is not going to deter him.

K, I think it's illegal for them to charge you a fee on your credit card TIPS. I posted a link to the federal employee tip laws on another thread, and I remember it said they can withhold the amount THEY get charged to process the transaction, but that's it. If they're paying you this on check and withholding that much of your tips they can really get in trouble. Unless I'm mistaken. Need to read that link again.

Anyway most clubs do the 10% split thing - 10% to the custy and 10% to the dancer. We KNOW it doesn't cost them that much to cover their cc costs (including chargebacks) so they're just gouging everyone. When I worked at Rick's in NOLA they charged 25% to the customer and nothing to the girls. Of course the girls all liked that better and it didn't seem to deter the custies' spending one bit - if they're spending on credit card they're gonna pay the fee. I've never once had a guy refuse because of the club's cc fee.
