    Default Happier as a dancer...odd?

I had stopped dancing, had all that shit happen, got married, wasnt sure, did hair (hated it) was very very unhappy - probably got blocked by a few for all my moaning and groaning about how miserable I was.

BUT - the interesting thing is - even after that shit with the jerk DJ - Im a much happier person now that Im back dancing again. I feel like I take better care of myself (nails, tan, hair, makeup) I just feel better, prettier. I have money again - my OWN money - that I worked hard for and is all mine.

My mom noticed this - she pointed it out that I smile more, I look better, Im just overall a happier person now that Ive gone back to dancing. I told her if you had $1500 cash in your purse from the week youd be happy too.

Anyway - I just wanted to say thanks to all who stuck around with me when I went through my bitchfest... and YAY to Strippers!!!

I don't think its odd at all that you are happier when you look good and have independence. If dancing gives that to you, then its OK to admit that's where you should be.

    Congrats!!

Maybe it has to do with moving your body in your own way. When i was in dance or cheer in school, i felt happy cuz that was my creative expression.

Good for you Audrey, do whatever makes you happy.

It's better to have a happy jolly dancer in the club, then one who hates work & looks miserable on stage. lol.

I'm soo happy when I dance too. I left for about 3 months, and came back with a vengeance. I LOVE IT!

I felt so much happier after I became a stripper than all the years spent in the corporate world before. Instead of fighting my nature, I was embracing it.

So, go with the flow, instead of fighting the current.

Glad you're feeling better, Audrey--I know you went through a tough time there for a while. Glad you've come to some light.

I don't see it as odd. From your posting the last couple months, it sounds like you were unhappy largely due to financial problems as well as feeling in control and independent. Now you are getting that back and it's no wonder you feel better!

    Congrats!

Having money, and the freedom to make my own hours and not feel overworked makes me very happy!

I think it's great that you got your training to do hair, and a bit of experience because, if you hadn't would you have been able to realize how much dancing works for you!? And whether or not you use your training now, I think it would feel great to know you have something you can fall back on, if need be.

Could someone please make this an integral part of stripper orientation? Goddamn, there's a lot of miserable scowlers on stage these days...

Congrats for finding your path, Audrey.

I read your post about doing hair and I remember this girl who told me that there is no money in hair ( she wasn't at a super high end place though ) and I thought " I wonder if Audrey will really stick to doing hair very long ". I'm sure you would do fine if you were at a top salon or you started working heavily for weddings or photoshoots ( anywhere that commanded a higher day rate). But .... for now .... enjoy dancing ! Keep us posted on your Reno trips !

Hell .... I'm getting lazy at my own day job after just finally auditioning and knowing that I could definitely dance. Is your mom ok with the dancing ? I hid the audition from my family ( and plan to hide dancing ) if I do it , so I'm really not sure if the stress of hiding anything from them will balance out or not.

^ My parents know I dance and nude shoots - my mom has seen me dance and seen my nudie photos. When I first started my mom wasnt too happy but she said "As long as youre paying your own bills I have no say" Pretty much how I feel about it!

I just got back from Reno. Made $2600. Did I mention I freaking LOVE dancing?!
