    Default Nail places

I want to feel my best when I return to work so I'm actually gonna get my feet and nails done. I never get my nails done so this is epic. lol

How do you choose your nail salons? By price, colors, foot massage chair, types of services offered, etc? I need help choosing a good one but not one thats going to rip me off.

Quality. Ha. I have searched and searched and searched and even made a thread the day I found a quality nail lady. She's my homegirl. She does waxing and tanning to. All by her lonesome.

I religiously go to the same place every time. MOST nail salons charge the same, give or take a couple of bucks. I'd rather spend more and really like my nails. Of course... I get fake ones. If you're just getting a pedicure, then I've never really seen a difference in quality. You're going to have to ask people and do some trial-and-error. Even the place I go to has ONE chick who really sucks. I mean, they're all really good and... then there's HER.

I've been getting my nails done (acrylic and gel) for years. The best place I have ever gone to is Royal Nails in Kearny Mesa. They are expensive, but very worth it. Christine and Michelle are the best. The others are okay for pedicures, but I will only get my nails done by Christine and Michelle. Do you just want manicures/pedicures or are you looking into gel or acrylic nails?

I'm going to put gel over my natural nail. I've done acrylic fakes and I don't care for them. I love that spa pedicure thing. Trying to turn my sexy back on. I'm hairy like chewbacca right now.

My girls put gel over your natural nail and it is sick! I used to do it and I love it. I think they charge you the same as a regular gel + tip, a new set is $55 or something. But it lasts a long time. My friend and I usually go one month with little to no lifting.

Here's their number if you want 858-576-4943. Their spa ped is like $20-$25, I don't know exactly because that damn massage chair makes me itch so I get the regular ped.

This is awesome to see! I've had shitty nail ladies in the past and I swore off nail spas unless it was a social thing with my girls.

Recommendations are seriously the best and only way to find decent beauticians aside from hunting around for a needle in a haystack

Ugh, I hate those massage chairs, too! I don't understand the whole vibrate=massage thing. Sorry, threadjack.

Too much blood circulation with those damn things. Same as those stupid foot massagers at the Del Mar Fair Grounds

Yes! I was always disappointed with getting my nails done. Sucks to spend so much for subpar work! A club regular actually recommended Royal Nails to me. It's funny 'cause the nail lady (Christine) is so innocent and sweet, and she's like "Matt* always sens me so many girls! I am so appreciative to him!" and she has no idea he's sending all the strippers. She must wonder how this 55 yr old man has so many 20-something girlfriends.

When I lived in FL I used to go to the mall, and they did an okay job. I didn't know any better. Now I go to a spa and have found someone who hand files acryllics and I will never go back to the other way. I actually have real nails underneath and they aren't all torn up.

I found my nail lady by asking a girl at my club whose nails rocked. She gave me the name and has been going there for 6 years. I think that is the best way to find someone.

I have always just gone to the Vietnamese places, but am continually disappointed. Last week the lady actually cut the shit out of my cuticle and I got infection requiring antibiotics. Last. time. ever.

So I'm currently looking for a good nail chick. I just did a search of places in my area and the spas charge $30+ for a mani and $50+ for a pedi. Eeek!

Good nail places are tough to find. I've been to two in the recent past that not only filed my fingernails down to nothing, but cut the hell out of my cuticles to the point where skin started peeling off my fingers! It seems like there are a few nail places per square mile in every area, and its tough to tell which one will be good, and which one will be mediocre or even bad... Ameri-Nails in the Mission Valley mall is one of my favorites.

I go to the same place every 2 weeks. I just kinda stumbled upon it. Prices are good, and I tip well so a lot of times they'll give me a cut. They have the message chairs for the peds, and the guy there is OUTTA this world. He is my new hero. Lots of paints to choose from and one lady that does GREAT nail art. I love the place, and it's so cute when they speak vietnamese. Sometimes they'l tell my what they say, but I still wonder if they're lying

I've tried sooo many places, both upscaley salons and the storefront asian places, and can't blanketly say that one is better than the other. All depends on the technician. When I find someone that does my nails well, I will stick with that person as long as he/she is at the salon. Or until the service changes, which does unfortunately happen. Go with recommendations and if you like the way your nails turn out from that manicurist, stick with her/him!

trial and error. All the girls at work recommentd a place that is so far on the south side. I finally found a guy close by (sort of). I get complements and recommend him to other girls. I have super short acrylics, and keep my toenails very short. If anyone in Tucson is reading this go to Leon in the nail place upstairs in the Tucson Mall, near Sears and trade secret.

i must add, I go to the same guy over and over. He's way better than any of the females...and so much funnier. His wife works in the both next to him and sometimes the kids come in....It's funny.
I gave the little girl a dollar once for telling me jokes the whole time(it was cute) her mom yelled at her to give it back. She was sad but did.
I snuck it back to her when I left while her mom wasn't looking,
Probably disrespectful, but yeah..the girl was soo well behaved.
