Default 2nd birthday party ideas and questions

Hey mommies !! I am getting so stumped , my daughters 2nd bday is in two weeks . Well first I am going with a Sesame street theme because she has boy and girl friends ......then I am having cup cakes because she LOVES cup cakes .....At first I pictured the party outside because we have a nice patio with flowers and this is Florida after all ....THEN one little boy couldnt come and it was just going to be one friend so I though why not just move it indoors then they can play with all her toys and the moms can relax ......well now another little girl is coming so I am considering moving it back outdoors ( the mom also has a 5 month old so ...) BUT really you can see this isnt a big deal and its completely throwing me off my game !!! I am getting a pin the nose on Elmo game and I have gift bags for the guests .........just not sure what to do , indoors or outside ??? My living room is so small .......but it would be easier to keep my eye on them ....outside would be prettier and if we get her a Sand box for her Bday then they could play with it Anyone ??? Help this new mom , lol

suggestions from a "daddy": i vote indoors because of control and weather.

temporarily move as much of the furniture out of the way or just against the wall, as possible. then let the kids have a center mat or playzone.

for two year olds you can do a lot of simple stuff: video (kipper or teletubbies), puppet show (professional or amateur), easter egg painting (or something similar), chocolate dipping (probably syrup is more appropriate but this is getting popular), and of course typical party games.

the real biggie is dressing up like barney! but you can lose five pounds of sweat in a hour! so keep yourself hydrated! but the kids go ape for that ime!

face painting/makeup stuff is also fun. i find food prep parties are interesting though: brownies, cookies, flavored popcorn, etc. it's also another growing popular theme.

definitely have to do the goodie bags though. as i've heard many a child comment "how much loot did ya get?!"

party city and such are very affordable places to stock up. figure out the number of attendees and start from there. ime, that's the pita part of these parties. you plan for x-amount and there's often a couple of stragglers that show up without notice! oops! good luck!

It really depends on what the weather is going to be. If it's going to be nice then do it outside. Over the years, I have had alot of stuff broken because parents don't watch their own kids at birthday parties. Another idea if you have to have the party indoors is to get the cups that have lids and straws built in so that you don't have stained carpet or furniture.

Face painting is a great idea and cheap to do.

Ya know I would just do a little both in and out doors but I dont want to spend extra money decorating two areas so ......ugh
