    Default cow-human cross bred

There is obviously some controversy over this....personally I'm all for stem cell research and I dont consider a lab created embryo less then 14 days old(the legal limit in the UK where this article is from) to be a living person. So if we can help actual fully formed suffering humans..I say do it.

    But discuss...

Very interesting. So the "information" is human and the "life" is not. I'll be following this as it advances.

It's pretty much the same argument as with any transgenic organism (ie GMO food), but with higher stakes...possibility of saving human lives vs. ethics of destroying <14 day old fetal life (human or cow, whatever).

If you take the arguments seperately, I'm OK with transgenic modification, but I believe they should be labelled as such. Obviously not an issue with stem cells, recipients would know.

As for the ethics of creating life and destroying it at <14 fetal days..yes, I'm OK with that.

The cow-human 'crossbreeding' thing is just a media angle that attracts readers...splicing human genes into cow DNA is not = creating some crazy half cow-half human beast, lol.

Very interesting! I'l be watching too.
