Default Denver vs. San Francisco , highest earning day shift in Denver ?

Has anyone worked in both cities by any chance? I'm thinking of staying away from SF and doing all dancing in Denver. Are there Denver clubs with good stage $ and minimal contact on dances? I'm used to full stages and I might be able to adjust to SF, but I think somewhere more stage oriented and with air / light contact dances might be better to start with ( if the money balances out of course ).

I just had a friend add me to her flight benefits. The airline I have them with can get me to San Francisco for free and to Denver for $30 roundtrip ( space available seating). This means I can do stripper trips now and not have to roll dancing into my day job trips ( could tell that would be way too exhausting) .

Looks like a question for Kylea 2! You may want to PM her...

As for Denver clubs, you may want to check out Shotgun Willies, Diamond Caberet, and La Boheme...

I just did a search and was pleasontly surprised to find that a few clubs have( or at least had ) a decent day shift. I think Shotguns would be great, but I don't want it posted on my taxes. Thanks for your response Mia. From your posts, I can see we have very similar idea about what makes a good club ( lots of booze and few youngins ) !

Kylea : If you read this, I'd love to hear from you ( prefer to post rather than pm so the info is useful to others as well ). I'm not looking to work a ton right away ( just a few days a month in April to see how I like it ) , so Denver might be good. I think I'm way too green for San Francisco.

shotguns and diamond have the best dayshifts. each club has its own ups and downs, diamond is REALLY strict with their music, and has generally shitty attitude towards the girls, but there is great money to be had there, Shotguns is a little looser on the music, but yeah it would show up on your taxes, since you aren't an independent contractor and they have a lot more meetings / requirements to work there. La Boheme is hit or miss on the day shift, some days i make great money as the DJ, sometimes it sucks, this is the most fun i have ever had working at a club though. The clientel is a lot more of the fun party people, i can play whatever the fuck i want with VERY few exceptions, we are currently experiencing a real shortage on girls too, so an addition would be welcome.

Keep in mind your paychecks from the 'Gun are issued by "Bavaria Inn"... after I retired from entertaining, my resume looks like I was a cocktail server at a German themed resturaunt.

DjSteve and Mia: Thanks for the info.

One more question. In Denver , do you ever experience " rushes " of customers during the very large scale conventions? I just looked up a convention schedule to see when the city would be bringing in a lot of out of towners. Is it even helpful to follow this info closely or do you mostly rely on locals ?

Damn it . I wish it wasn't tax time. Taxes are keeping my busy all week. I want to come to Denver and check things out over there !

it depends on the convention really, something in technology or something that is mostly geared towards guys we will see a decent bump in business, the car show did very little here but the miscrosoft and home builders association as well as the beerfest had us pretty slammed. We actually have a calender of all the conventions and concerts etc in a couple locations downstairs.

    Jay, I love ya... you're a hoot!

And he's definately right... I think you should consider comming to Denver for the Democratic National Convention. Downtown will be a clusterfuck and every bar and resteraunt (topless or otherwise) will be BUSY.

For contact in Denver , is it generally light contact one way ? Can the customers touch you ? I'm trying to find out exactly what the norm is in both Denver and in San Francisco.

Sorry I didn't see this early, but I did send you back detailed info. If you have more questions just let me know. I know both cities are bad right now, but I'd try San Fran first.

    Kylea :

I got the PM ! Thank You !!

I have had problems finding a topless only club in SF that is willing to let me work 4-6 days a month. They seem to all have the 3 day per week minimum and I can't seem to get around that. I need to call around a bit more. I should probably start a new thread for this, but I am so damn frustrated with the weird scheduling in SF. I really don't want to play the "agree to work , then quit because of the stupid scheduling " game. I have a good work ethic. I don't want to get hired on somewhere with the intention of not following through.

I can't compare to San Francisco, but I've been dancing in Denver for two years so I'll try to give as impartial an overview as I can. I work at Penthouse so I'm probably a little biased but I'll try my best =)

The contact in Denver is extremely diverse. The laws are irrelevant - what matters more is which club you're at and which shifts you work. But inevitably, higher contact will most likely equate with better money. Also, if you find yourself in VIP (we don't have "rooms" down here, but the high-priced VIP lounges all offer separate dance areas), you'll more likely than not be expected to give up a bit more. Shotguns is known for being good stage money, but I haven't heard a lot of great reviews from the dancers. Supposedly, they are very strict about dress code, make up, and jewelry, which is ironic because most of the high-ER rollers end up at Penthouse, just down the street, but a lot of the time you'll still have to hustle like theres no tomorrow to get them to spend. I also heard something about a cheesy, choreographed dance routine you have to do with all the girls there, but I don't know much about it.
It's funny to continue to hear this city "sucks" because my log book shows my earnings have only increased as time passes (and my hustle improves), which just goes to show you make, so to speak, what you make of it. I average just under a grand working day shifts at penthouse...on average, with plenty of $1200-$1500 days with the occasional 2G. But I digress. LaBo will probably offer the lowest contact in the city, although I'm not sure if that's still the case since it was bought out by PTs recently (which owns the only good clubs in the city, so make sure you don't get fired.) When I worked there, though under different ownership, money was awful, girls were ugly and/or mean and cutthroat, and even the customers didn't seem happy to be there. Shotguns and Penthouse are probably going to have a similar setup as far as contact is concerned, but I would venture Penthouse might be a little higher milage since all our dances are in a separate room and you'll often be the only one up there. But I've also heard (from good sources) that prostitution is also pretty rampant at Shotguns, so who knows, although things have cleaned up dramatically in the last few weeks as we are in the midst of a not-so-undercover drug and prostitution raid. So if you do anything, don't do it here. If you do anyone, don't do them here =) But I digress. At night, at least here at penthouse, there is no touching of the boobies, butt crack, or poonanie. The rules are kind of vague, but you can't get "too into it", and there's no spanking allowed. I assume the same is true for Shotguns. During the day, there is no bouncer upstairs and generally most customers are used to being allowed to touch anywhere except the poontang. To be honest, and this may be different at shotguns, but you will probably have a hard time making money without allowing customers to touch and lick your breasts. But this only applies to day shift (or VIP customers). Night is a lot tamer but as such you will end up doing fewer dances for more customers, whereas during the day it's not unusual to stay up there for 2-3 sets at a time with the same customer (at $30/song, thats almost $300). But of course there's also more customers, so it just takes more stamina.

Let me know if there's anything else you want to know. I would recommend at least checking out both clubs while you're here. They're just down the street anyway. =o) good luck!

Hehehe... I have to agree with you Mia . I don't think I heard hardly any one say it right. It's a pretty unusual name for club. I liked hearing people on their cell phones try and pronounce where they were. I seems like one of those ideas that was good in theory but not practice...sort of like a difficult to pronounce stage name.
