Oh wow! I thought I was alone! I was with this guy for 5 years and the girls at my club who knew as well as people outside were always confused. Broke, lacking social skills, selfish, towards the end even bordering on emotional abuse. Before that it was 2 years with a guy who was broke, overweight, and started out treating me nice but got progressively meaner as time went on.

Hoping the streak is done though. No more serious relationships till it's someone who treats me well enough and has the same motivation that I do.

It's impossible to find someone who's absolutely perfect, who fits your definition of the ideal mate in every aspect. We all make compromises. Every guy I've ever been with had some of the traits I want in a partner but not all.

I'm curious about the point of this thread. Why ask a bunch of strippers (or any group of women) if we date / have sex with people "below" us? Is it meant to fulfill some weird fantasy that we're all potentially obtainable by even the most unworthy of candidates? Because if so, you need to hit the ATM and ask us again later!
When I post in the Lounge, I kind of don't feel like I'm asking "a bunch of strippers," if that makes sense. It was just a curiosity question...I was emailing back and forth with a guy I went to college with who married below his league...that's all.

Ugh my last serious relationship was one that now I look back embarassed and a lil grossed out. Attractiveness wasn't the only issue, but he was boring and lazy too. I think everyone has their WTF was I thinking relationship. And of course my friends didn't say anything until after the fact.

Sugar and butter? Man, I hope he thought it was salt.

No, he did it on purpose. If you are taking someone elses food, wouldn't you ASK them before you did something so drastic?

Does it count that when I was 16 I dated a guy that was technically homeless and rarely ever showered or washed his clothes hahaha! He was only 17 and was apparently too punk rock for a home...or showers. Needless to say it did not last longer than a couple of weeks. I was a total sucker for a guy with a mohawk back in the day.

Ah yes. I used to be notorious for "slumming" in my relationships. Nobody on my level would have let me treat myself as badly as the stupid, drunk, ugly, rude, or misogynistic guys did.

Not so much anymore...but yeah, I never wanted anyone to treat me well when I was sick, depressed, actively alcoholic and addicted.

Where would I be without slumming?
