If you take, or have taken, a progestin-only minipill like Micronor, Ovrette, or Nor QD, I'd love to hear your experience. Thanks.

I would like to hear some experiences also.
I am considering taking the mini-pill as it is the only contraceptive pill that you can take while breast-feeding.
My only issue is that on a pregnancy/baby related website I am a member of, about 5 women have gotten pregnant while taking it![]()

Is this the same as a monophasic pill? Sorry about the spelling. It's where it's the same dose of hormones all month and you can just go from one pill case to the next without having a cycle?
If so I have taken this, with success. However, I had breakthru bleeding if I missed a single dose. It did mess with me a bit emotionally. (Picture PMS all the time) I did gain some nothing overwhelming. 10lbs and I was able to lose it while on it by simply cutting out carbs and empty calories.
Going off of it, I didn't and still don't have regular periods. It's been 2 years.
If this isn't the right pill I apologize lol
^ Not the same. the mini pill contains only one hormone, as opposed to most birth control pills which contain a combination of hormones.
The reason why it is less effectve is because the mini pill absolutly MUST be taken at the exact same time every day. Even a few hours off can result in pregnancy. From what i've read on it, it does have far fewer side effects than other pills, and the failure rate can be quite low with absolutly perfect use. But there is little room for error. If you aren't good at keeping a schedule or remembering to take your pills, this would not be a good option for you.

Ah okay.
I just looked it up to see what I was on, it was Mircette.
I'm taking progestin only micronor from planned parenthood. Been on it exactly 2 weeks. The pamphlet says may cause breakthrough bleeding. Um -no. I just got my whole period AGAIN. Today I had a complete meltdown pissed off and crying and more crying. Very unlike myself. So as of tomorrow I'm ditching that shit. They say to give it 3 months to even out. Um - HELL NO. I would lose my job the way I felt today.
Everybody is different. Give it a shot. Just know yourself.
