    Default Dizzy & paxil??

    Hey girls.
I've been taking paxil for anxiety for about 6 years now. Recently, I tried to get myself off of it...

About a month ago I started cutting my paxil dosage in half. I did it for about 2 weeks and then I started feeling sick and very dizzy. I feel lightheaded to the point where I cannot even work. And it doesn't come in spells, its pretty much constant. Could this be from paxil withdrawal?

Yes. More than likely. It will pass but make sure you care cutting off by 5 mg dosage bit by bit. You might have reduced too quickly.

Please check in with your doctor. Never go cold turkey. Or just in halves, slow small reductions are the key. Even then you might experience a day or two that's "off".

It's simply your brain attempting to figure out how to function without it again. In the meantime please consult your doctor about the appropriate weening method for you.

    Best of luck

that usually happens when i lower my dose too. i am taking luvox and if i lower the dosage i get terrible nausea and dizziness too. the body usually adjusts within a week or so, so if it goes on for much longer u should speak to your doc hun and find out whats happening.

ETA: I forgt to mention that lowering it by half might be too much too soon. if you can cut it evven further it'/s usually better so that you could lower it by a quarter for a week, then a half etc.

There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.

Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.
