I hope this will help some of you and im looking for ideas/help, too.
My strategy in clubs that are mostly lap dance clubs is to set my goal and then break it down. For example, tonight I worked at a club that is $30 couch dances. My goal was $750. That's 25 dances. I worked a six hour shift. That's five dances per hour for five hours. I did 20 dances, take home $600 and used my stage tips, etc. (total of $84) to tip out with. It was a rough night but when I set my pace like this it really helps keep me motivated throughout the night. In my mind it went like this: Did 2 dances, 23 to go. Did 2 more, 21 to go. Did 5 more, 16 to go. Did 1, 15 to go. Did 1, 14 to go. Did 2, 12 to go (half way, yea!) Did 3, 9 to go. Did 2, 7 to go. Did 2, only 5 left... ran out of time. If I have a count down it really helps me. To Tell myself, I only need three more or whatever number Im at really helps me get out there and talk to people I normally wouldnt bother with.
My problem is that I recently changed clubs (I posted money vs. happiness trying to decide where to settle). My new club is geared towards vip time rooms, not couch dances. Dance options are:
$25 couch dance/ house gets $5
$150 15 minute room/ house gets $25
$300 30 minute room/ house gets $50
$600 hour room/ house gets $100
I've gotten pretty good at upselling customers to 15 minute rooms but Im struggling with setting a strategy for myself at this club. It's more of an evening gown club where you have to sit and talk for awhile before money starts rolling. I can't yet figure out who are the time wasters and who are solid money spenders. I'm earning pretty good but it seems to all come from one or two people in big chunks. I feel like I'm making my money by 'luck' more then skill and I don't like that. I thought about setting a pace by dollar to time. Like, $150 per hour. But when I'm making my money in big chunks its impossible to do that. Also, the tip out at this club is very high. More like $150 to $250 then itty-bitty $85. I cant leave it up to my stage tips to cover that.
Any suggestions?
