    Default My nightly stratagy...

I hope this will help some of you and im looking for ideas/help, too.
My strategy in clubs that are mostly lap dance clubs is to set my goal and then break it down. For example, tonight I worked at a club that is $30 couch dances. My goal was $750. That's 25 dances. I worked a six hour shift. That's five dances per hour for five hours. I did 20 dances, take home $600 and used my stage tips, etc. (total of $84) to tip out with. It was a rough night but when I set my pace like this it really helps keep me motivated throughout the night. In my mind it went like this: Did 2 dances, 23 to go. Did 2 more, 21 to go. Did 5 more, 16 to go. Did 1, 15 to go. Did 1, 14 to go. Did 2, 12 to go (half way, yea!) Did 3, 9 to go. Did 2, 7 to go. Did 2, only 5 left... ran out of time. If I have a count down it really helps me. To Tell myself, I only need three more or whatever number Im at really helps me get out there and talk to people I normally wouldnt bother with.

My problem is that I recently changed clubs (I posted money vs. happiness trying to decide where to settle). My new club is geared towards vip time rooms, not couch dances. Dance options are:
    $25 couch dance/ house gets $5
    $150 15 minute room/ house gets $25
    $300 30 minute room/ house gets $50
    $600 hour room/ house gets $100

I've gotten pretty good at upselling customers to 15 minute rooms but Im struggling with setting a strategy for myself at this club. It's more of an evening gown club where you have to sit and talk for awhile before money starts rolling. I can't yet figure out who are the time wasters and who are solid money spenders. I'm earning pretty good but it seems to all come from one or two people in big chunks. I feel like I'm making my money by 'luck' more then skill and I don't like that. I thought about setting a pace by dollar to time. Like, $150 per hour. But when I'm making my money in big chunks its impossible to do that. Also, the tip out at this club is very high. More like $150 to $250 then itty-bitty $85. I cant leave it up to my stage tips to cover that.
    Any suggestions?

i think pacing it out is a good idea, like the inital breakdown of how many per hour youll have to do is pretty reasonable, but I think the constant countdown and thinking and measuring over it is kind of setting yourself up for dissapointment. Like if you can consistently hit it with not real problem okay, thats one thing, but I personally think constantly being a ticker about it and expecting a number like 700 rain or shine may stress you out more than you think... if a club just isnt really feeling it one night you should chalk it up to circumstances you couldnt control, instead of feeling like you failed.

Since you like having this goal strategy/breakdown and it works for you, let's see how we can use that to your advantage..

ok. What do you think of this: Work in terms of contacts. Figure out how many VIP rooms you want to sell each night and how many contacts that will take. First figure out on average how many vip's you sell a night compared to how many customers you apprach. You discover that you approach 10 customers a night and sell 1 room. So if you want to sell 2 rooms, you will need to approach 20 customers.
So that's your goal and countdown method. And each rejection will take you 1 step closer to your VIP sale, so that's the motivator.
So you can break that down further and if you work a 6 hour shift, and your goal is to sell 4 VIP rooms, that's 40 customers, so that's about 6 customers each hour that you will need to approach. As you get a feel for the club and a hustle strategy down, your customer:VIP sale ratio will go down, and you will need less contacts to sell 1 room, so keep track of your averages and use that to your advantage.
Or you could do it in terms of lapdances: VIP upsells. If you know that for every 5 lapdances you get, you can upsell 1 into a vip room, than you know how many lapdances you will need to give a night in order to upsell to vip rooms.

After you sit down with your customer and feel them out you can decide how to proceed, but since VIP's are your goal, I would suggest offering them an option that always includes VIP. Lapdance, or VIP room? Or - half hour vip or an hour? ( depending on what buying signals they have given you. Do they seem to have VIP money to spend? then ask for it. Do they seem to only be willing to buy a lapdance? then offer that and a vip. Always offer the VIP room, but depending on the situation, give them a choice between 2 different priced options, or the lapdance and the cheapest VIP. Either way you win. If they go for the lapdance, when it's over, again offer the vip room. (would you like to continue out here, or are you ready for the private room now?)

Was that helpful? I hope so. Sometimes I even confuse myself

Great tips Jeska. I've read this before, *reading again*.

Apollopink, I set my goal depending on circumstances. I don't constantly set my goal at $700. It's higher or lower depending on the time of year and day of week. That was just my example night. This is just what motivates me and works for me. I'm not dissapointed that I didn't make my goal, I'm excited I came so close on an otherwise miserable night.

Thanks Peanut Butter! That's a great way to look at it. That's the motivation I need to 'play' the numbers. I will apply this tonight.

I do a similar thing, but I try to get ONE dance by Midnight (my club sucks).

The first one is the hardest to get for me, plus the place is often empty until 930, then regulars only for the next hour or so.

I do well AFTER midnight, but its hard to get ONE dance before! Grrrr.
Theres no sense crying over every mistake,
you just keep on trying till you run out of cake

Im a superstitious stripper to the bone. I swear if my first dance comes easy, my night sucks. If I have to pull teeth for the first one, I bank.

In that kind of club I either set a goal like 3 CR customers/night or 10 overall customers (because at least 3 of them will end up CR customers). Sometimes I even put a little rubber band on a finger and move it over every time I dance for someone.

I like the rubber band idea, I might try that! Thanks Lena!

Thanks for the great ideas girls! I never thought of counting rejections as anything but BAD, so thanks for the idea on not getting so discouraged on bad nights.

I can't make my hustle work in the new club. I gave it a solid try and fail. Cant teach this ol' stripper new tricks.
I went back to my old couch dance club with a new refreshed attitude and Im doing freakin' phenominal!
I set my goal at 30 dances for fri and sat. I exceeded it both nights. Im very happy.
