    Default How You carry weight

I was inspired by curvycuties thread..... I am about 14 lbs away from my goal weight 6 months post partum. I , am 5'5 and 150 lbs and while I still have a little ways to go I think I look pretty damn hot. My weight is distributed well, Ihave decent muscle toneand people are always shocked when they hear the number(like family, I would never tell anyoneelse my weight) but....... I think its really important for people trying to lose weight not to get too wrapped up in numbers. People have different proportions, different bone density and so forth.I was very embarrased at the number that registers on the scale because it just seems so high for my height, and I am in no way satisfied YET but seeing someone else that looks fab made me feel less ashamed. And shit, I had a baby!!!!

    I'm the opposite to you.

I'm only 5'4" but if I put on 5-10lbs it will be noticeable. If I am 125 pounds I will look kind of chubby and I really don't look good unless I'm 115 pounds or less. I'm not a big one for weighting myself, but I could be the same size as a friend and the same height ad look way bigger than her just because I don't carry my weight very well
    It sucks.

It's really not about the 'weight' as such but more about how you carry it and whether or not you are proportionate in my opinion.

I think it is important to keep your actual body frame in mind. Sometimes you can lose all the weight you want but not achieve that "petite" frame.

As for me...I have a really full face no matter what weight I am. I think sometimes it makes me look chubbier than I really am. I try not too stress over it too much though.

    MY THREAD INSPIRED YOU??? AWESOME!!!

Yeah, I suppose I do carry my 150lbs well lol.... I wish I was way smaller though. When I do lose weight though, its' always from my tummy and boobs first.....NEVER MY HIPS/THIGHS/BUTT-which is what I hate the most lol

I'm 5'10'' and weigh between 150-160 lbs. And I wear a size 11. My fat all goes to my thighs, hips and butt. Nothing ever goes to my boney ribs and skinny chest! We need to switch lol.

I'm 5'9'' 136 as of late because I've been eating a lot because I'm sick. I'm normally around 130 and it is really obvious that I've gained weight. My thighs will get noticeably closer together and my stomach isn't as flat (it gets bloated).

So what they say about tall girls having it easy because of weight distribution, well it isn't always true.

CurvyCutie I'm just like you. I can get the flattest abs in about a week of dieting, yet the butt hips and thighs don't budge! I way a ton more than I look too.

I'm 5'10, but despite what I told myself all through highschool, I'm really small boned. I carry weight HORRIBLY. The first place I put on weight is my face, neck, love handles and theighs. My stomach and back never get fat and my arse is always flat as.

For someone as tall as I am, I have midget hands and midget feet. My wrists are the size of a ten year olds - and then i have these massive hip bones??

I really only have a five pound weight range where I look good. Which is tiny for someone my height. If I weigh too much I look like a bloated mess; too little and I have bones sticking out in all the wrong places.

In my natural sedentary state, I have a weird, klunky, sort of rectangular frame -- neither apple, pear nor hourglass. I tend to store fat in the lower abdomen area and also pretty evenly all over.

I'm 5'6" and, like Pure, I actually weigh quite a bit when I'm thin, due to muscle mass. When I was dancing -- I wasn't a super skinny dancer, but I was pretty toned and in shape, not a "fat" dancer by any means, visible abs and waist substantially narrower than hips -- and I weighed about 150. Before I started dancing and working out, that was 140 -- but it was all pudge, and when I was dancing I looked a lot better and fit into smaller clothing.

(Oh, for reference: when not in shape I'm a size 10-12, size 8-10 when in shape, depending on the clothing mfr. I usually wear a women's Small on top and Medium bottoms.)

This is part of why I keep going around telling people to go by inches, not pounds! Heh.

Not really thin right now -- sigh. Tryin' ta work on that. Getting better slowly. :-)

Oh -- while we're on the inspirational self-acceptance, I'll also add that whenever I go on a diet/workout regimen, I wind up with cellulitey thighs because I don't lose it evenly. Takes a good few weeks to even out. So I always end up working with thigh-hi stockings for a while after I lose some fat.

My body does the same! I hate that I lose weight unevenly, but once it gets below the 'dimple' stage Im happy

I'm pretty lucky in that I carry the least weight in my abdomen and it's pretty evenly distributed between my butt, thighs, calves, and arms. I'm 5'9" 123 right now and I'm a bit boney in the hips for my liking, but when I'm 130-135 my mid section has only gained a bit. Oh and my boobs are small. They only come out into big B-small C range at 137 or so.

I'm the same way.. 5'6" 125lbs and wear a size 11 too. I weighed 140 a long time ago and people always said I was fat.. even though 140 for my height is still a healthy weight. I feel the best at 115, been trying to get there for a while.

People think I'm skinny because I have no fat on my upper body at all, it's all in the lower half.

DO NOT get wrapped up in numbers. I have an extremely high muscle to fat ratio and if I got caught in the numbers game I'd be a dead muscley anorexic.

My arms stay skinny....I wish I knew how to flatten my tummy without loosing any weight.

When I used to wrestle, we'd get divided up according to weight divisions. I was working out like a nutball and was in killer shape back then. I looked very compact, and the girls in my division, who weighed the same, tended to all look a lot heavier. Some of the girls who looked my size were actually 10 kilograms less heavy. People do carry weight very differently, was the lesson I learned. Having lots of muscle really will make you heavier than you look.

As for how I carry my weight, I think i put it on mostly pretty evenly distributed. But I pack a little more on my upper body. Even at my heaviest, my thighs looked fairly small, and my arms/ waist are the last things on my body to get skinny. I have to be a good five pounds underweight before my arms look skinny. I just have that Fraulein, beer stein carrying-type build. Big breasts, big arms, lovehandles. C'est la vie.
