I did a search and did not see anything about the Atkins diet. I just wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts about it or experience with it. I've been on it for 3 weeks now and I'm pretty happy with the way things are going.

My mom did it and lost 50 lbs!!! I tried.... but I am just not a huge fan of meat/cheese, fatty stuff.... I'm more of a sweets person. But OMG I so wish I could stick to a low carb diet.....
"LIVE FAST DIE PRETTY!!!"
boohiss...i loathe the months I did atkins.

It seems like people either love it or hate it. I respect different peoples thoughts on it because no nutrition plan works the same for everyone. I was eating lots of junk before because I was feeling depressed and lazy for such a long time. I was pretty much living on bread, pasta, and sugar.
I thought going low carb would be more difficult but I've been doing this for three week now and it isn't too bad. I'm eating lots of new veggies I never knew excited and feeling pretty good. I've lost a little bit of weight but mostly I am glad to have my energy back again.

I tried it once and had a lot of success with it.
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
I had success at first.
My bad cholesterol went up...I never had a problem before and I did NOT eat the fatty meats and cheeses all the time
My brain felt slow and I had no energy
After the inital time (which I lost 30 pounds) I weened onto more carbs EXACTLY the way I was supposed to I and gained back 40. I exercised as usual and even a little more.
I didn't feel healthy, but some people do.
DO what you feel is best. If you choose to do so, best of luck, but beware there is a possibilty of bad outcomes (as with any diet)

I did the low-carb thing last year and it really worked. I stuck to it for a few months but anything that cuts out an entire food group leaves me feeling very deprived. And I hated every day of it. Kinda like trying to be faithful to a guy I didn't want to have sex with. Eventually I wound up having the equivalent of a carbohydrate orgy.
