    Default LSATs... practice/tips/etc...

so... anyone know where i should be looking in terms of starting to study for these icky things? i HATE standardized tests, and i've heard that you need to practice your arse off for these. i do so much better on written exams, but maybe without a math component i'll be alright. should i just go buy "lsats for dummies" or has anyone found any useful sites with practice guides and such? damn, i thought i was off the hook after sat's...

My only advice is to practice those logic puzles so you are good at solving them quickly. Get a prep book from the library or wherever, and practice doing at least one a day.

well if you do it now, you'll get good at doing them, and you won't have to stress about. Most people can solve them if they have enough time. They aren't that hard once you are used to them.

Taking timed practice tests will help a lot. Are you taking it in October?

Do they have any of those prep courses in your area? You might want to take those as they work pretty well. All of us took them "a few years ago"
    for the SAT's, LSAT's, MCAT's etc.

most likely in the winter/spring of '09... but i have SUCH limited time that I need to start thinking about it now. Plus, like I said, I suck at standardized tests. So yeah, def. a good idea to start doing those puzzles and such now... good advice.

Take the Prep Course and as many practice LSAT's as you can. It's funny but if you take enough of them the questions sort of repeat themselves so that when you take the actual test it's literally like you've seen at least half of the questions before.

def practice the LSTATs. I did practice ones and then i read some tips and you do not get points deducted for wrong answers so when there is about 15 mins left to go forget trying to answer questions and just fill in the answer sheet with guesses. You are bound to get some right. This is what I did and I aced it.

Just take as many practice exams as you can and like someone mentioned - time yourself each time so you know where you are at in terms of being able to finish the test and pacing yourself...

shell out the 1000 bucks for the class, take as many practice tests as possible, and not just take the test. take it timed, with no breaks, etc.

Agreed. I wouldn't waste money on one that cost $1000 tho. You can get all the free info off the net.

I went through thr LSAT...it sucked.

that said...buy some books, or better yet take a prep class. Figure out which area is your weakness and really work on it. Give yourself several months to prep.

    Good luck!
