$$$ for pound, how much would you actually pay?
I'm not talking surgeries or anything, just a hypothetical weight loss fairy.
I would like to lose 15 pounds and I'd pay $1000-$1500 for it to magically disappear.

I would pay $15,000 (if I had it) to be thin, I really would. Trim the flab off my arms and inner thighs, smooth out my tummy so you could actually see the ab definition I have underneath the fat, and that would be worth the money to me. While we're at it, I'd throw in another $5000 just to have my hair back.
I wouldn't even pay $1 for something I can do for myself for free. I'd rather just work hard.
I would DEFINITELLY pay 15000 to drop 15lbs. SRSLY. My metabolism is so fucked up I'm afraid to go on a diet...so other than excercise I don't know what to do to get back down to 105-100.....Damn You Fat!!
Wow you guys make me look a cheap ass with the weight loss fairy! LOL Ok 2500 to get rid of these 15 pounds thats my final offer.
I woulnd't pay for weight loss. But I would pay for some motivation, discipline and will power. I could do anything I wnated, including lose weight, if I had a good dose of those.
Working hard will only get you so far past genetics.

I wouldn't pay anything to lose weight because they're just numbers that have so many variables it's not funny. Weight is based on sex, fat to muscle ratio, water retention, whether or not you ate 6 seconds ago, if you peed, if you had a bowel movement..... ad nauseam.
NOW let's talk about paying per inch.
'cause if you magically lost 15 lbs but looked no different, would that still make you happy?

The only way Id pay is if I knew I could never gain it back. Otherwise I know I'd put those pounds right back on and it'd be a waste.
If I pay 15,000 to be 120 forever. Maybe more.

Okay, I've been watching this 'biggest loser' show, and I have to say, fucking wow. These people get amazing looking, and it really is surgery free. And they were like whales before. Yes, they have amazing trainers, but you can't discount exercise and diet until you've gone the miracle mile. It's hard as fuck, maybe even harder than paying for surgery, but it *is* possible. I've watched my mom this year, who hasn't been thin since she was 12 years old, work out 3 hours a day (and she works 10 hours a day...how she does it, god only knows). She's a 51 year old woman, and she looks amazing. It's extremely difficult, but I firmly believe anyone can get thin and toned from exercise/ diet alone. Just, you know, lots and lots of it.

1,000 dollars a pound, maybe more if it stayed off. I would looooove to be able to not workout or workout less.
I totally agree with you BUT some people (who are actually good candidates for lipo) can carry a dis-poprprtionate amount of weight in one part of their body... like people who are really thin but randomly have one fat part. There is nothing that you can do to "spot reduce" that if that's the way you're shaped.
For instance, I am unhappy with my stomach because that is where I tend to hold weight. The only time I liked my stomach is when I weighed less than 95lbs. Obviously, that is never going to happen again
And yes, even when I taught pilates and was majoring in dance I had this problem. Again, it's not like horendous or I can't wear a bikini or anything, but I raelly HATE this about myself and would pay 2500000030830930 dollars to loose 5lbs from my midriff region.
I think the Biggest Loser people have a lot of advantages. For one, they have trainers to help them maximize their workouts and tell them exactly how to do what they need to do to look that way. And they live in a supportive environment with other people who are all doing the same thing. Working out and losing weight becomes their job. That's all they have to focus on for months and months.
So yeah, it can be done through diet and exercise, most definitely. Fortunately, the people posting here are far from whales and don't need to lose a hundred pounds to look good. They are talking 10-20 lbs., and that is totally doable if you have the right plan in place.
as in permanently gone, I can eat whatever I want and stay at a certain weight?
I'd pay a lot for that....maybe up to 5k
Weight loss forever. I'd want to be about 40 pounds lighter
I'd easily shell out 20K

hell to never think about weight again? to be slim even after kids? id sell a couple family members for that shit.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply anyone here was a whale? I think I meant to say the exact same thing as you. It'd be nice if everyone could work out 6 hours a day, but I know it's not feasible. But I just truly believe that anybody can lose weight without surgery. I have polycystic ovarian disorder, which makes many women obese- like not overweight, but obese- and I've managed to stay relatively slim. I still want to lose 15 pounds though, and I know I can do it if I just run a few extra miles, cut down calories a bit more, etc.
I find watching people who make major changes in their lifestyle and reap major benefits is just very inspiring, even if it is something as silly as reality tv. I remember this guy I knew in high school, who'd been fat his whole life (I knew him when we were in second grade), and one summer he just got fit and skinny. His friend called him fat, something clicked, and he just began running, working out, eating well...and bam. He was like the very picture of fit physique, and it certainly wasn't natural for him. He went on to do some male modeling, of all things. People like that are motivating, I find.
I also realize that everyone has a certain shape you can't overcome, and I get that it's frustrating. I have these evil biker arms...these crazy biceps that are enormously muscular, even when I do as little with my arms as possible. I've always wanted to have slight, narrow, feminine arms, not the kind that look like they could knock out a gorrilla. But c'est la vie. No one needs to be perfect, unless they're a model, and no one needs to be a model. And now I'm just projecting all over the place, so I'll stop!![]()
I would be in debt for 10 years to loose 40 lbs

I don't want to lose pounds, I want to lose inches. I'm 100 lbs., but I would pay 15K to lose some inches on my tummy and legs if I knew it would never come back. Oh what I wouldn't do....

What Lysondra said about inches!
Seriously, the big deal for me is not LOSING weight -- I mean even at my best I'm not the thinnest girl in the room, but I don't really care, so long as my body is fairly tight and toned. Keeping it off, aye, there's the rub. In time cost, pretty serious. I'd like it if vacations and illnesses didn't set me back, y'know? And I'm currently struggling with the fact that there is simply no gym within my access right now. Dance workouts / climbing flights of stairs / cutting down calories can only go so far...
I'd give a fair amount of money for a guarantee that every square cm of fat I lost on my own would just stay the fuck away from me thereafter. Not as much as you guys are talking, but then I've never exactly made the big bucks. I'd say somewhere in the low to mid 4-digits, which is probably what I'm going to spend on my next car.
