Post I realized I'm NOT an Entertainer!!

The other night, a 10yr veteran dancer and I were having a conversation about dancing up on stage. I told her I'm a very good stage dancer (floorwork) but if I'm not getting any tips on stage, I don't dance to my full potential. Don't get me wrong, I still smile, and look like I'm enjoying myself, but I aint' working up a sweat up there...

She on the other hand is the type that is really a performer..She says she dances the same way on stage where there are 100 guys or 3 in a room. And I can vouch cause Sunday we had about 2 custies in there (not even paying her attention) and she still put on a show.

That's when I realized that I'm not really an entertainer..I'm a hustler. I could give a damn less about a stage. The possibility of working up a sweat on stage, or possibly breaking a bone on the pole to have someone "make it rain" on mei just not worth the risk for me. I'd much rather take time out and hustle the floor than dance on stage for a bunch of looky-loo's any day.

    Am I the only one??

I think stage is a special circumstance. Some girls are great on stage, love it, and love the pole, some couldn't give a shit. I'm more of a slow sexy some booty poppin dancer but I definately don't put on an A+ show that often. Partly because I don't know how and partly because I know the money is on the floor.
Stage is fun but I think thats about it, it doesn't have much to do with being a good stripper.
IMO being a hustler is a better skill at the end of the night money wise.

There are two types of dancers.

Entertainers - Girls who put on shows and their main focus is stage.

Private Dancers - Girls who are there to make their money doing private dances.

If your main income comes from doing private dances then who cares about stage? As long as you arnt a train wreck and doing the wandering around with the finger twirling in the hair popping bubble gum bored out of your mind stage set.

Where does that put me? I'm still using a towel after stage to wipe my sweat as I'm hustling the next victim!

My hustle has always been #1, no matter what I do. Everything else, while still held in high regard, is secondary. If my bills aren't paid, money isn't stacked, or I'm hungry then I wouldn't be a happy camper and couldn't do the rest of my job to the best of my abilties for the time being. So I keep focused on my hustle always. I do love the stage though, alot!

I love the stage for advertisement. Although I don't go into a super show, I try to keep in mind that someone is watching and that could help me sell laps or vip later to them.

^Yup. Doesn't mean I don't want to become a better entertainer, because I seriously do. I love watching other girls on stage and studying what they do and how they do it so I can improve. But at the end of the day, I either caught people's attention, didn't make an impression, or lost their interest. Trying for option #1.

Hustler here. I used to "entertain" Meaning, put on a good stage show. I would dance my ass off. Now, I feel I don't get paid enough to put out a bunch of energy for nothing. It's been about 4 yrs. since I've actually preformed a real show. Just not worth it anymore. I can make better money just walking around stage (and turn every so often )

I wish I was a performer/entertainer, but I'm not at all. I mean one-on-one and in small groups I'm entertaining, but not on stage. Meh-I'd rather make money out on the floor.

I would work instinctually. Some days I was a performer. Other days a hustler.

I wish I were more of a hustler. I love performing on stage, but I'd trade it to cure my sales nervousness any day. Hustlers make more money!

LoL I realized after I typed that that it made no sense(yea I was posting drunk and stoned... shh...) anyway couldn't fix it cuz my net crapped out.

Im not saying that entertainers can't hustle. Im just saying that your usually focused on one or the other. Doesn't mean you can't be both.

Heh... im the girl that actually turns down private dances Yea I hate doing them...

I'm all about the big faces. I hate wasting energy on stage for a few bucks. I haven't gone on stage in about 5 years, I'm dreading going on at my next club.

At my club, its almost completely stage. There are 2 chairs behind a pool table for private dances, so it just doesnt happen. I love it tho, I just go onstage and then shoot pool and hang out

I really like stage dancing if it's a busy night. If it's slow/early/whatever, my set takes a really l-o-n-g time and I get bored

Oh I realize that which is why I said who cares about stage when your main focus is making your money hustling dances.

I used to work in Toronto, where it would be a shocking thing to make $20 on stage in one night lol.

I really enjoy dancing on stage, but I don't put my "all" into it...even when I'm giving the "best performance." I tend to make more money when I give guys attention, instead of giving my dancing skills/pole attention.

For me, it depends on the club and my mood. Some clubs the people really do tip and I try to put on my best show. For me I would sometimes prefer the stage because it is a lot more impersonal than trying to tap into some pervert's mind. Sometimes I would rather expend the physical energy over the mental energy.

Right there with you! Altho honestly, I try to sell lounges so I can skip stage rotation - its 40 minutes of dancing when I could be out there making money. I typically go on stage once a night around 9pm and work the rest of the night.

I totally relate! The same with dances -- I'm happy to do them. The sales part takes work and effort for me. I can do it, but I think I am more of an entertainer. Gotta make them pay for that entertainment though!

I enjoy working the stage far more than lap dancing and I wish I could make most of my money there. I find it's very taxing to interact with the guys these days. The nicer ones don't want to be in the crass hard brothel environment. They actually like the pompous gowns and sharing dinner in the VIP and don't want to deign to dine with the cretins they see these days. Cain't say as I blame 'em!

Same here. I was never much of a hustler...I was more nervous asking one man for a dance than dancing naked in front of several on stage. lol. Totally backwards. Guess it's that fear of rejection thing.
