    Default Side sleeping post BA

Just wondering how soon you went back to sleeping on your side after a BA. Dr. said I can do it when I'm comfortable but I"m sooo worried about shifting the girls my sleep. My back and neck are killing me though. I'm getting a massage today. I hope that helps. I wanna sleep on my side.
Funny thing is I have managed it wake up with my legs twisted to the side and my head, but not my torso. My body wants to sleep on its side soo bad, but I'm guarding. When did you start?!?!

A couple of weeks after. But Im 4 months post op now and I can tell u its still not all that comfortable to be on my side for long periods. They get kind of achy. So now I put a pillow on the side too so my boob has more cushy support.

I don't remember. But post-op I slept on my Bodywedge21 (piece of exercise equipment - or sex furniture). It was PERFECT for post-op.

    I'll try the pillow idea.
His theory is, if it doesn't hurt, it probably isn't going to hurt you or the integrity of the implant.

I waited so long, probably a couple months. I was so scared and paranoid my skin would lift in the middle and I'd end up with a uniboob. The doc said it was fine after a few weeks.

It was a couple of weeks for me, maybe three at the most. I was soooo happy when I finally could sleep on my side, I can't sleep on my back so I was exhausted until then.

I always slept on my tummy. Now I'm having a hard time doing anything other than laying on my back. My spine is all kinds of screwed up. But the boobs look good and thats all that matters.

I'm glad this was posted. I'm gonna try the side pillow thing tonight.

    Good luck!

I'm about 4 weeks post-BA and have just started sleeping on my side in bed with my husband. For the last few weeks, I've been on the couch propped up, sort of sitting up. Very uncomfortable, yes but not as bad as sleeping on my side in bed. I'm less sore every day and I finally found a bra that I can wear to bed. That's what really makes all the difference for me. Are you wearing a bra to bed at all?

Always wearing my support bra. 24/7
    I feel scared without it.
Today was day 1 with a wireless reg. bra and I feel so guarded and vaulnerable. The only reason I wore it was because both of my support s are in the wash at the same time.

Actually, the first night after surgery. If I lay on my back the weight of my implants present a significant obstacle to relaxed breathing !

Having to sleep on my back would be one of the reasons why I am hesitant to get a BA. I just don't think I could do it! How difficult has it been for you to ajust ajbaer?

Would I have not gotten a BA if I had known I had to sleep on my back? No. It was definately worth it. It sucks for a bit but you'll be fine after a couple of weeks.

I think it took me a couple of weeks too. Sleeping on your back is sooo uncomfortable, my back and neck were aching too. I just went to sleep on my back one night and woke up on my side. Until then it had been to sore so when I tried to roll over my body protected me and stopped it but as soon as the pain stopped I was rolling over without even noticing.

Sitting propped up was the way I had to go. You're so drugged up the first few days you sleep no matter what.
I'm 2 weeks now and I wouldn't let it inhibit me from not getting them. It will go away. I'm going to try sleeping tonight.
Bella, Ive adjusted well but I have neck and back pain. I got a ped today though with the nice message chair that helped. But then i had the worst night EVER and I'm all tense again. Meh
My recommendation, after the first few days stop the high end pain meds and ask for muscle relaxers and use ibuprofen. I was SOO thankful

Is having to sleep on your back more because it is painful to sleep on your side, or because it will cause problems with the implants? Or is it a combination?

I believe it's because of pain, but I would worry about integrity of the impants initially. I really don't think it's that big a deal, I'm doing aight.

It was painful for me to sleep on my side at first.

Ajbaer, I slept the first couple of nights sitting up on my couch too!
