Default And they say stripping is degrading??

Check out any episode of the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency (love the show) on sidereel.com/_index/television.

They are constantly shoving these girls into bikinis, lining them up, critiquing them on their appearances, and telling them to starve themselves to lose weight!

How is it possible that stripping is compared to prostitution more than modeling?? I've never seen any girl I've worked with degraded like I have on shows like this (which are, of course, broadcasted internationally for ultimate humiliation). The last time I saw a line-up, it wasn't during a show about stripping. Just modeling and prostitution.

How can people be so biased against strippers when we have such blatant examples of more humiliating situations on TV??? Makes me CrAzY

Lol I love Janice D. I never saw the show though.

Modeling is a fucking psycho industry- that was all I dreamed of as a teenager. Thankfully I had a friend a few years older who went into it. She did pretty good (working in Milan, London, etc not a mall fashion show model) but she was honest with all she experienced. Then I didn't want to be a model anymore.

Being a model gets a pass because you are baring your body for fashion, luxury designers etc- the money is just a bonus. Society automatically sees models as a woman who is famous, beautiful (and that's not always true), paid and one day can marry a celebrity or someone rich. With odds like that, everything else is forgiven. ;-)
I'm guessing that's how they all see it.

Last time I spoke to my model friend she was on a steady diet of Xenical and Pepsi Max.

I think you might be confusing "reality television" with "modeling". And I think that there is pretty much universal agreement that reality tv is pretty much the most degrading job there is. Except for "So You Think You Can Dance". They're very nice about it there.
