Default Do you and your SO have a "song?"

I know a lot of people have them. My parent's is "Amarillo by Morning," by George Strait. Its not a romantic song, but my momma says that it was on the radio a lot while they were dating. She says she'd hear while riding with him in his pick-up. Ahhh yes, I was raised by country people I guess.

I don't have one with my boyfriend, at least one that we've agreed upon. In my head its http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8sg77XSfqQ

    So what's your song?

Everytime my S O hears a song he likes he announces it as our song, even if I've never heard it before. I have a couple I associate with us, but not so much 'our' songs.

Oh wow, I had forgotten what that's like. The last time I had a song with someone, I was 16ish. It was Faithfully by Journey.

Yeah, but it's twice as old as any of you guys. Of course, so are we.

I know another couple who has "Amarillo by Morning." I questioned that, pointing out the lyrics: "Lost my wife and a girlfriend somewhere along the way." But it was the mood that it generated, not the lyrics.

LOL... My story is a bit weird....

Our song is "Lotion" by The Groundskeepers. Yeah, its a song about the movie Silence of the Lambs....

Now... the rest of the story...

I was sad because I had just dropped off my kids for their summer visit with their dad. My boyfriend knew I was upset and texted me with some lyrics from the song as a joke. I joked back by saying "Awww, you're playing our song". And its pretty much stuck ever since.

Its dorky, but we aren't really the romantic type of couple. Both of us are closet computer nerds and don't do the romantic mushy songs.

Yes, Old Lovas by Dwele (the dude that sings Flashing Lights w/Kanye West). The lyrics man......

Although PV got sick and phucking tired of hearing my s/o's ringer "Brown Skin" by Bilal 30+ times a day, when he was "courting" me, it was also his call-tone.

    All the words are like...wow.

I was having a massive internal battle about whether I should move to Canada or not and this song came on and yeah.... Here I am.

Can't quite explain why, but every time we hear it we go all gooey eyed at each other lmao.
Think its to do with when he took me to London for my birthday, paid for everything, went for a slap up meal, then took me to see Emperor. That's romance for you.

Ours is "Don't go breaking my heart," by Elton John and Kiki Dee. I know its cheesy and stupid but one day it was on the radio and we were being goofy singing it, him elton and me kiki and it just stuck, we used to sing it to eachother all the time. It kinda suits us coz its geeky and goofy and not really romantic and when we started dating we were really like that. I felt like I was 16 again with my first boyfriend.

Sean Kingston - Take You There

Every time she picks me up from the airport, or I'm in town in general... this song plays on the ride home. Since she lives in the Crimedot, it's appropriate. We have a good laugh every time we hear it.

I don't have a SO , but when I find her "Bleeding Love" by Loena Lewis will be our jam becuz that's the way I want to feel about falling inlove again/some1 specail and it's just such a hott song.

My parents song was "solid as a rock"
and I always wanted to get married to "Eternal Flame"

Unfornately me and my ex were much more "Every torn", "When doves cry", "Don't Speak", "Addicted", "The trouble with love is"--hell every Kelly Clarkson and Hinder song wrapped in 1 which isn't a good thing.

Our song is "A Woman's Love" by Alan Jackson.

When I was doing my clinicals in the ER, S came in to do his clinincals as well becasue he knew I was there. We were attending to one crazy old lady in the ER, and she had a TV in her room and the video to the song was playing. Well crazy lady lloked at S and told him he should marry me! AT the time we had only known eachother for about two weeks! But six weeks later we did get married......

"Only You" by Yaz. So cheesy, but we slow dance and sing it to each other. We even have alternate lyrics we made up.

    And:

This one was "Our Song" when we first started dating:
    Basically for the verse:
"My pain is caused by my pleasure.. And my Soulmate lives in your body."

"Wild Sex (In the Working Class)" Oingo Boingo.

We hit it off one night after realizing we had so much in similar, one thing being our love of Boingo, and after a few weeks he sent me part of the lyrics as a text one day. Boingo is more like "our band" though. We joke that "Little Girls" is our song though because of our age difference.

K's such a music junkie, he's made me hundreds of CD's over the course of our relationship. We don't have any one song that's "ours," but there are a lot of songs I associate with him and a lot of them that make me feel all nostalgic and gushy.
