Default if you could rewind your life...

If you could go back in time and relive your life starting at any age you choose, while still maintaining your current memories and life knowledge you gained, would you do it? What age would you go back to? Whatwould you do differently?

I would go back to the day I turned 18 and moved out. Before I fucked up my credit beyond repair and fell into a seemingly endless pit of financial strain. I would start dancing imediatly, but do it right. Save a large percent of my income, work on building and keeping credit, investing for my future, getting health insurance. I would start college and not quit. Go until I graduated, but continue to dance even after getting my degree. I would build my future on dancing, and only quit when I was ready to settle down with a family or got to old or ugly.

I think about this a lot. I feel like it's to late to start over. Some things I have damaged beyond repair and I so regret it.

    So would you go back?

I broke my foot after 6 years of ballet and never went back. I feel sad that I let a setback like that stop me from doing something I loved.

i would go back a few years. shape the fuck up, and get into the world of modeling and paysites and stuff and build up a name for myself before every girl and her dog had their own nude solo site, jump on the myspace bandwagon the fucking second that shit opened up and started promoting the shit out of myself right from the word go.

I would go back to when I was 13 or so. At least that way I would know that all the BS I was gonna put up with all through school would work out ok in the long run. What I wouldn't give to actually know that instead of thinking every day was the end of the world because I was gonna get picked on at school.

Hell yes. I'd go back to age eleven and do everything differently from there.

For real, I've thought about this a lot too. And I would change only ONE THING. My life hasn't been great by any means, but I have only one regret. Things I don't regret: I'm an addict, I declared bankruptcy a few years ago, I'm separating from my husband and preparing for divorce as we speak, I stumble and bumble around all day and night, I'm book smart but people stupid, I don't have many friends. This can all be learned from and worked around.

The one thing I would do differently is say no to the psychiatrist who gave me my first antidepressants and anti-manics when I was 17, after talking to me for all of ten minutes. I would try to treat my depression naturally, therapy, herbs, whatever I could. I've been in a never ending cycle with these stupid pills for 7 years and don't know how to stop taking them! I try, and fail.

Well, either I would have found some awesome coping mechanisms or I would have killed myself. Either way, I wouldn't be caught in this stupid pharmaceutical web I can't seem to get out of.

Yeah, I think that's all I would change...everything else is such a part of me, I like it even if it sucks.

I have some regrets. The ones I used to have at various stages of my life have mellowed and become sources of amusing anecdotes. The more recent (last 5 years) still pop up from time to time and trouble me.

My biggest hope is that when it's time to die I don't have any regrets. I have to master how I deal with thoughts now so that I achieve that. The should haves, and shouldn't haves take work and vigilance, sometimes they are comforting though...like a comfy old chair.

I wish I could go back and do a better job of the first time I fucked a girl. That went badly. It could have been sooooo much better!

I would so go back to when I was eleven and do the 'girl thing' a whole heck of a lot sooner than I did. Like a whole damn heck of a lot sooner. Like woah.

It can be difficult to make a recently single man pay for sex when he knows that a quick trip to the local watering hole would secure at least one hard drunken tumble for far less cash. It is even more difficult when he is something of a dead ringer for James Bond as played by Daniel Craig and possesses the sort of awkard charm and confidence that brands a man like him as a lady killer.

I like questions like this. I know it ounds cliche but I'm the type cat who believes everything happens for a reason. If I went back and changed just one thing everything else from that point on would be different. I learned from the mistakes I've made. IMO the only real mistakea person can make is to not learn from them so they don't make them again. The mere fact that you wish you could do it again means you learned something from it.

Here's one of my fav things to ponder. There's a scientific theory that this isn't the only Universe but just one in billions. And for every choice you didn't make there's another Universe where you made that choice. I'd like to be able to see the other versions of me in the other Universe's just to see how things turned out. For example there maybe a Universe where I'm still an active addict/alcoholic and one where I never moved to Florida etc.. It's been a long day I hope that made sense

I think the only thing I would want to go back and change is I would have started saving all my money like crazy at a much younger age so I could have a much larger savings account now. I think it would be awesome to retire around 35 or 40 !! As of now that is a distant dream for me.

Other than that...every struggle I went through has made me who I am. I wouldn't want to change that. All my struggles have made me strong and I like that. I know it sounds sappy but its true for me.

I don't think I'd want to go back, but if I did-I'd go to some really early age and raise holy hell about a lot more than I ever did.

Oh hell NO! Things are just starting to get good, why would I want to go back to the beginning? I worked extremely hard and went through a lot of pain to get here.

I spent most of my life feeling like I just didn't fit in, like I was a stranger in a strange land. Finally things are starting to make sense, my life is running smoothly and peacefully. I won't give up this part of my life for anything.

I'd be willing to bet a lot of women approaching middle age feel exactly the same way.
I've earned this peace of mind, dammit!

That's how I feel. I've gone through a lot of crap but I'm a lot smarter for it. If I had to go back, I might be stupid. BUT... if I must chose... I'd go back to my Freshman year of highschool before I met the drug-addict, alcoholic, murdering, stealing, lying, abusive, cheating peice of shit that was my bf for waaayyy too long. He really set the bar so fucking low that I had a hard time figuring out what was a "good" bf and what was just better than THAT guy. I think I'm going to hold that grudge forever.

I may go back to when I was 18. Learn to forgive myself and others a lot sooner. Tell my family about what happened to me when I was younger (still have yet to do that). I'd have a lot less scars on my arms (and on my mind) if I could start it over with the current memories.
But hey, I'm OK now, so I guess things always happen for a reason.

To me it seems like alot of the older chicks have no regrets. I am 23 and there is NOTHING I regret. I have made alot of bizarre and stupid choices in my life, yet regardless, they are my choices and I stand behind them. If I started to look back and try to reverse them, I would not be the smart (yet retarded, lol) woman that I am today. As much as I look to the future, through savings and education, there is nothing like "attempting" to live in the moment. I was recently given an opportunity that I am still skeptical about, yet, I try to remember how much I would regret it if I turned it down.

At the moment, I am at a crossroads. One option is to stay at the path that I have been on, easy enough and totally doable. The other, will give me all the opportunity that I've always wanted. At the same time I'm confused about what to do with it.

Whatever. It doesn't matter. Whatever I choose, I will try to regret it. I spent 5 years with a drug addict. Sure it wasn't the best to spend my time, but he taught me what to avoid and love in my life. We are still friends, and he still feels like he owes me. All I try to be is a good person. Sometimes, being good, isn't about how much it pursues one further.

I'd go way back. Childhood. The past 30 years were so awful, even if I only retained some of my knowledge I'd have to do a better job a second time around.

I'd have worked harder at the whole shy thing a lot sooner. Now I'm so far behind I don't think I'll ever catch up. It's too late for me. As much as I hated it, I'd so go back.

I wouldn't change a thing. I quite love my life now but I'm afraid changing my mistakes wouldn't have gotten me here. You live and you learn.
