Default White cars - In or Out?

I'm still car shopping... so far I a have been thinking Black paint, but I saw my fav Sports car in White and it looked hot. I really didn't expect to like white. Subjective opinions on white sought. Also for anyone with a car painted white, do you feel it is harder to keep clean? Black shows dust, but hides tar spots.

My next vehicle will be black. I owned a white car several years ago and I found that it only looked clean for about an hour or two after I left the car wash.

Black cars look better in shade. There's a song about it.

I've had all red...except the latest commuter lease which is a funky green.
My buddy is white always. He even gets the mirrors and handles and anything else painted white as well. Seems odd to me, but it makes him happy.

I think white vehicles are completely unattractive. And yes--they always look dirty. White, to me, says BORING.

But then again...I'm a chick. What do I really know about cars?

My car is black. My next car will be black. Not a fan of white cars. They're bland, show dirt big time, and they seem more like soccer mom cars.

I used to have a White Buick, it was quite nice. I will never have a Black car, I think some "silver" is my color. Unless of course I ever can afford some serious money car, and then perhaps red...

I used to say I'd never own a white car. But now R and I have 3. LOL. For us it was a practical choice- white doesn't get as hot, or fade as fast in the Arizona sun. But in PA, I wouldn't worry about it.

For people that hate white, come down here. There's so many white and silver cars you'd scream

Not my first choice in color, but I'll take white over beige any day.

White cars do have one advantage. When the neighborhood birds give your car their seal of approval, it doesn't show as bad as on a non-white car.

Although this article suggests your white car might be a more likely target.

My last three vehicles have been black. They look awesome when clean especially with chrome wheels shined up.

The only white car I have owned was a pearl white STS. It looked good. I didn't think it showed dirt too bad.

i've never had a white car, the closest i came was that pearly cream color, and i'm pretty happy with that, dirt obviousness wise. some models do have certain colors that they look best in for some reason thou, just prepare yourself to devote your life to standing over your car with an umbrella
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

That's a very good point. It's been a while since I've been somewhere hot so the practical reasons slipped my mind.

Yeah, I'd rather have a dirty white car then a baked, faded black one.

What if the car was a Porsche Cayman S with 19" wheels? Still boring? It is a 2007, new, they are willing to part with it for a hefty discount.

But the interior is a very dark blue leather.

See that's why I said... I was surprised how much I liked "White" in this case, though Black on Black looks bad ass too.

Nice car x. If I had my choice of colors, white would still be farther down the list. But I don't have my choice so go for it. Especially if you're getting a hot deal.

Here's more color options in their gallery

Edited to add a link to their visualizer so you can see it in any color.
I like the Meteor Grey Metallic myself

They have colors I like more, but this one has been sitting in the show room for a while. I test drove it last year in fact. I guess nobody wants that color? I let them know it is not my top choice, but we are now in the 20K$ off range in the negotiations (this from a company that says they don't negotiate). I test drove it again Saturday. Had a nice little back country race with a Ferrari. Thankfully no cops caught us My blood is rushing again.

For that much off you could buy the car and just get a paint job on it!

Good point BG. Although he might want to check to see if that would void a portion of his warranty. The interior color being blue might limit his choices of exterior colors.

Well of course. Always check the warranty first. But for a $20k discount on a car that the color is liveable, I myself could wait out the warranty and then paint it when it expires. Assuming you'll be keeping it that long.
