Default When regulars forget about $$...

How do you guys politely remind your regulars to continue giving you $$ for your time together at the club?

I've had a few problems in the past where the regular starts to think that we're buddies, so he forgets that he should continue buying LD's/tipping well/etc. He'll just sit there and blab about his life...

Any tips on cute/non-confrontational ways to bring money up in this kind of situation?

Generally, this is the beginning of the end.

    ^^^Agreed.

I have a regular that used to come in every Friday night with $100 or so. Lately, he's been missing weeks, and he only gives $40 when he DOES come in.

Next time he comes in, I'll wave at him, and then ignore him for a good portion of the night. After he's been there for about 1-2 hours, I'll go up and say, "Long time, no see! You ready to go do some dances yet?" If he says no, I'll say, "OK. Let me know," and walk. I MIGHT check back later if I'm not busy.

Basically, this serves two purposes: 1)Reminds them that you ARE at work, and 2)Keeps you from wasting your time for free. If they don't grab you for dances, then move on.

    **warning, I suck at regulars**

When they just want to chat about their life and shizzle but I still find them fun to talk to, I just tell them to come in early when I have time. It actually helps me warm up for other customers.

If they insist on coming in when it's busy and blabbing on and not booking. I just politely say I'd love to stay but I have to make money.

One of my regulars has this habit of starting to chat without paying so I just pull out my shoe and the lacker band coz he knows thats where i keep my money and I say "ok so how long are we hanging out for?" then he knows it's time to pay.

Mention the time instead of the money. Or if yours just gets dances say so i wanna dance for you - just make it about either spending time together or dancing (hint hint pay).

There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.

Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

When someone wasn't paying I would let them know that I had to get back to work and would come back if I got to take a break later on. When you come back to "take a break" give them a song to pay you for your time. If they don't, go back "to work."

Essentially it reminds them that you are at work and if they want to spend time with you at work that costs money. And if they don't want to spend money you aren't there to be friends, you have to go work. Also, by thinking that you would spend even 5 minutes of your "free" time with them, they feel more of a connection for which they are usually happy to pay... cause you must like them.
