Me, it's been 3 months.
Less than six months
Six months to a year
One to two years
2 years +

Only since September for me.

i think that you will find that your poll is WAY too narrow, skewed towards the shorter end. We have lots and lots of girls on here that have been dancing 5, 10, 15 years!
Your poll is going to have so many people respond 2+ years.
^^ That's a good point. I wonder if I can change it? I guess I thought of it this way because in real life I haven't met anyone that's danced longer than 2 years.
Thing is, I kind of think of those time divisions as meaningful in terms of what you learn, what stage you're at. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like dancing up to 6 months is newbie phase, after that is like you're not a newbie but you're still amping up your game, then after a year you probably have it down. if you do it longer than that, you're a pro.

4 years this month, happy anniversary to mee!!
it will be a year on may 11th.

I enjoy it more than I ever did.

I'm enjoying dancing now WAY more than when I first started, cause I'm making almost double the money now! I have the respect of my coworkers, I am perfecting my pole work, I gained mad makeup skills, and my body is so toned!

I enjoy it less b/c i started late and i am getting oldI still mke as much or more money, i just feel old compared to all the other dancers. (im 29)
3 years

One and a half years - I can't believe it's been that long already.
I got thru stages where i really enjoy it and periods where I don't.
There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.
Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

It will be a year next month!

its my 9th anniversary on april 29th
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

I think you're really a newb for the first year at least. Before the 1 year mark you don't know what to do in the good/bad seasons or for conventions/ special events in you're town. Learning how to adjust to all of that I think is a major part of becoming a non-newb stripper.
Though I am now "retired" I danced for 11 years.

On and off for...12 years? Yikes. Prob only worked really 6 of those years maybe? I never took it seriously until recently.

About 10 1/2 years, retiring at Labor Day.
I was thinking the same thing! But to a newb 2+ years seems like a long time! I know it did when I was new and someone said they had been dancing that long I was like WOWnow its like eh, 2 years...
Its been 7 years now on and off. I love that now that Im older I seem to be a hell of a lot better at my job... Im still learning tho... everyday is a new day and a new obsticle (sp)... Im more confortable with myself and a lot more confident than I was even 2 years ago.
a little over 2 and a half months...still very noob
I love the reality of dancing, which is you can do it for a long period of time such as 10 years. Whenever that sort of subject comes up with a customer, they act like they've never seen a dancer who is passed the age of 24...silly naive custies...

I've got four years on and off (mostly on). I'm trying to commit to dancing another five years and then calling it quits for good. I go back and forth on whether or not I enjoy it. I know I'm having a much better time since I started traveling and working.
