    Default Steroids?

If this question is inappropriate, ignore it. It is not my intent to offend.

Someone smuggled in a Sports Illustrated, the one with the big article on how widespread the use of performance-enhancing drugs are. Policemen, soldiers (I have some experience with that), bodybuilders, movie stars, and athletes at all levels. Most alarming kids who want to improve their looks.

So, how widespread are such things amongst strippers?

(If you are using them, please be careful.)

Steroids are shockingly less dramatic than TV sitcoms make them out to be when used properly.

IMO you have to be very carefull whit stereoids. For me it is espacially the lower legs. They get huge just by normal exercise. Not a good idea Like a biker ...

I've taken testosterone, under a doc's supervision, to masculinize, for a short period when I was considering gender transition.

I suppose maybe a tiny dose could be used to build muscle, but at the dose I took, which was 50mg/week, some of the *first* effects of the stuff are voice dropping + more body hair. I... don't see why most dancers would be after these effects.

As for myself, I really like being able to speak in both female and male range now so I'm glad I did it. I consider my vocal range a lasting body modification that was worth all the money and trouble. My speaking voice was one of the few things I ever have really disliked about my body -- too high and squeaky -- I loved my singing voice, but I decided I could get over it, as I speak more often than I sing.

Though I'm not so thrilled with the increase in body hair, I had almost none before, so it's not too bad. Oh, I also gained a BUNCH of weight, due to increased appetite! Some of it was muscle, and some of that muscle has remained. Some of it was fat, and I've been having to work hard to get rid of it.

There ya go! TCF's TMI hour, signing off. Beddy-bye time now.

Totally correct. I am perhaps the only person in the world who prefers to do testosterone with a needle in the butt; the gel is more expensive and gives me monkey fur.

Due to a tumor mass, my endocrine system is pretty well toast, so I take a mess of powerful hormones. That being said, I am still a roll-polly dough-ball. These things are powerful and dangerous, but on the other hand, they do not work magic.

I would especially warn women against testosterone. Male-pattern baldness, body hair, permanent deepening of the voice, all sorts of side effects. Even worse is your are pregnant.

I do some. I love it. I'm happy mentally, though I know the aggressiveness and confidence is idue to the ncrease in testosterone. I have awesome muscles, but so feminine. I have incredibly low body fat, and yet great curves. This is my 3rd cycle in 4 years. Why would I stop??

In actuality I know what I'm doing. I take the safest form of test and low enuff dosage a woman can take. My muscle respoonse and low body fat is awesome, but I'm still very femininte. No extra hair, no mustache, no drop in the voice, but I am hornier. Helps with work though. I know it's not the same for everyone, but I gotta say. I love it!!!

...now that I think of it, they do actually prescribe women low doses for sexual dysfunction (and it's to supplement what we normally produce) so I suppose a similar dosage might have some of the other effects but not reach the masculinizing threshold...

Muladoll, will you PM me and let me know what form & how much? I am now really curious, as I liked some of the short-term effects (such as the HORNY!) but decided to go back to looking more female.

Oh, and, FTR: corticosteroids are very different from anabolic steroids. Systemically (as in, if you were to take them orally or by injection for a long period of time) they have just the opposite effects to testosterone -- weakening muscle and bone, increasing fat. They also have VERY weird side effects. One of my friends has a husband who took them for a serious inflammatory problem and went into a mania. Inhalers don't have systemic effects like that, though.

hu$tlebunny, my interest was raised by the article in Sports Illustrated. For me testosterone is just another medication I take for my condition. The idea some people take it for other reasons sort of blows my mind.

Is it only me ?? But I'm scared to death taking male hormones. Shure they can do some good stuff to you. Making you more horny and more toned ...

But think about the consequenses !! There are two kind of sexes. Fine !! Being one of 'em is fine !! Being somewhere in between is ugly !!!

You may think so, but me and many of my friends are "somewhere in between." And personally I find it pretty attractive. I know feminizing is highly necessary for the strip club environment, but there's a difference between saying something is not good on a stripper and saying that someone with certain characteristics is "ugly".

I'd feel a lot more comfortable if you phrased those sentiments as personal opinion. OK? I've kind of poured my heart out in this thread and I'm trying not to take your remark as a personal jab, or a slur on intersex people (who do exist, and make up about 1% of the population) because I'm pretty sure you didn't mean it that way -- rather as a caution to ladies who want to avoid having any masculine traits. And I do agree with the warning.

    Thanks for hearing me out.

I disagree. Plus, we all contain both male and female characteristics.

I did a cycle a while back and the only side effect I had was that my clit got a little bigger! And it stayed that way. I've only done it one cycle, and don't have any plans to do another because I'm struggling to get into the gym and actually eat right every day, so I wouldn't want to waste it. But I did like the way I feel on it.

By the way: you body is really hot!

^^^Thank you. I never experienced the bigger clit thing. I actually woudn't mind that. LOL This is the last cycle I'll do since I have no plans on competing. Yea, I feel great, but I'm not getting as much out of it this time than the times before.

OMG!! I feel very irresponsible about my previous post. I need to add that there are many different kinds of steroids out there. Some are absolutely NOT safe for women because the side effects are very masculinizing and oftentimes irreversible. There are only 3 that I know are safer for women, and 2 of those I would never take. I've only done form and only to help me break through my plateau at the gym.

Also, yes we all have some amount of testosterone in our bodies naturally. Some women have more than others. It's just when you push these levels beyond the "norm" that effects may occur.

Can a woman have too low of a level of testosterone? And how would one find out if they had one?

Thechaosfairy: I don't think she meant it like that. She was probably imagining woman bodybuilders or a female face with a mans body or something. Don't take offense, some people just don't think about things fully sometimes....:/
