    Default VOLUMIZING mascaras

I need thickness to my lashes, I already have great length to them. So I bought this mascara at Sephora yesterday by IMJU & hated it...

I thought my lashes were gonna look fake but instead I got thin looking stickly lashes. What crap.

I like regular Dior Show, but I want to try something else that will give me "fake eye lash" looking thickness.

I also have the Volumizing mascara by Loreal but I don't like that one on me either, & I know a lot of ppl who love it but it just doesn't work on me.

Any suggestions i'd appreciate it greatly.

I was suckered into that mascara too and it is total crap!!! I'm sorry you wasted $20+ on it. I like L'Oreal Voluminous, but you say you don't like it, so I don't have any other suggestions.

I just wanted to add that I found a sort of way to use that stupid fiberwig stuff: since it comes off really easily and sort of slides off the lashes when you wash it off, I use it as a "primer" under my L'oreal stuff, that way I can remove the mascara easily. I also sometimes use it on my lower lashes because it is so moisture resistant, I know it won't smudge.
I'm confused, but the Chewbacca Truffle Shuffle cleared it up. - Emily

Yes, it is so fucking crappy.... I gave it to my sister. I owed her 20 bucks, so I told her i'd give her an expensive mascara instead. LOL.

Yeah, I like it on my lower lashes too... it makes them look pretty. But man, it fucking sucks. I'm tempted to get BIG FATTY by Urban Decay, but IDK. http://sephora.com/browse/product.jh...dPaginate=true

I used to use Coup de Theatre, by Bourjois. I got it at Sephora.. the link:

It worked well for me but I stopped wearing it since I don't really like using mascara too often.

Sephora has a really good return policy, you can return things that have been used and with no receipt. I love that store.

Hated this... it was a pain int he ass to put on and then flaked off during the day.

I heard that Dior Show mascara was really great... I haven't tried it... I will be trying the new Covergirl Volume mascara (in the orange tube) so I'll let you know how that goes.

Well from Sephora's site, I think it's the same except black out is just a really deep black. http://sephora.com/browse/product.jh...dPaginate=true

I tried that one too, and it didn't look good on me either. I'm also not a fan of that whole duo technique.

Don't bother with Big Fatty, it isn't worth the cost. This coming from a huge Urban Decay fan.

First choice would be Loreal Voluminous- great price, great product.

Or another good drugstore mascara is Max Factor Volume Couture...believe me, you'll love this one.

There is also Too Faced Lash Injection, the brush is as big if not bigger than Diorshow. Diorshow Blackout will make your lashes more noticeable because the product is so black, but it doesn't do much for volume in my opinion.

It is different from the regular Dior Show. It has a different brush, it doesn't dry and flake the way regular Dior Show can but it can give you clumps but i just comb out my lashes right after i apply.

Black Out is my current fave after I apply ShiSeido primer (which is clear) and then comb out with lash exact from Cover Girl. You might be able to get away with not using a primer but my lashes are still recovering from an eyelash extension catastrophe six months ago!

Aw that sucks. The bottle is so cute too. lol.

I think i'm going to play it safe(since I have a special event coming up) and just get DS.

I've been lucky with Max Factor 2000 mascara so i'll get that some other time.

No mascara works as good as false lashes.

A pair of falsiers + any of the mascaras suggested in this thread is the best thing for thick lashes. Sorry if that's not helpful, but in my opinion nothing works better.

I keep coming back to Max Factor 2000 calorie. Its cheap and it really thickens. I like it even bettter after I've had the tube for about a month and the formula goos up a bit. Pile on a couple layers and it really gives you that super thick, fake lash look.

Personally, I'm a huge Big Fatty lover. The only issue I have with it is it can get smudgy, but if you apply the Gloshes part of Lingerie & Galoshes, it's the perfect mascara (for me, anyway....different strokes!) Go to sephora/ulta and play around with different brands!

The big fatty mascara itself is ok, but the brush sucks!!! I think Lancome makes the best mascaras. L'Oreal, Max Factor, and Rimmel are pretty good too. The trick to gett ing fake looking lashes is to apply multiple coats. Also, with each additional coat, rub the brush against the outer tips of the lashes; you can build your lashes out this way and make them look way longer : ).

I also like YSL's volume mascara. It's so important to put volumizing mascara on very clean eyelashes. I get my best faux lash effect after not having anything on for a day or two.

I've used the Revlon one that has a mascara end and a white end (you coat your lashes in the white stuff, then put on the mascara) and it really works. Only complaint is a bit of clumping if you're not careful or the mascara isn't new enough.

Sooo true!!^ I had a photo shoot, & was trying to work w/2 new purchased crappy mascaras, Jane (the little comb it come w/is good, that's about it) and highly touted, Revlon 2X .
I 'tried on' my Rev. self adhesive lashes, (they still need glue) & WHAT A DIFFERENCE.
I'm sorry, I won't spend over like $10.00 for freakin' mascara.
One thing that's helped me: to powder lashes b/4 masc. application.

I need it for a night out. Nothing major like a photoshoot or audition night, so I don't need the falsies. I do love them, but don't know how to apply them.

But DiorShow makes mine look close enough to fake, just have to keep applying like crazy...was wondering what else is out there.

I use Max factor 2000 during the day, it is a wonderful mascara so i'm going to try the couture one PV mentioned. If it's not dramatic enough, i'll use that during the day. I always have a night & day mascara so it wont go to waste. My day one is running out too anyway.
