    Default Lace Front Wigs?

I make these and I've always gotten compliments on them. I was thinking about selling custom ones for dancers but I'm not sure if there is a market for them.

How many ladies wear lace front wigs or would wear them? I would only charge about $300 for just the lace front and $600 for full lace. I think that's reasonable considering how much they retail for but I don't want to expend the time, energy and money to get started if there weren't any buyers you know?

So ladies, tell me would you invest in custom made lace front wig and how much would you pay?

I don't even know what a lace front wig is :/
I'm gonna go look one up. Do you have any pics of your own? What type of hair do you use? Is price dependent on length? Can you do different colors (i.e. black/hot pink highlights). I may be interested though.

I would do the full lace if it was high quality hair. Not sure about the price though. I know I wouldn't pay over a grand when I go to Manhattan and get one for that price from someone who has been doing them for 20+

I don't have any pics, I'm just thinking about things right now. I can use what ever hairtype and colors the girls request. The price would increase with the length but it wouldn't be huge variations.

I'ms till working out pricing but they are very labor intensive and I would have to be compensated for it. I'm still researching...

Lace fronts rip out the hairline. And they look terrible, especially when it obviously isnt your natural texture----like "New York" from Flavor of Love. Hello!!

    Just get a weave!

If a weave isn't someone natural texture- why does it automatically look better than a lace front?

    Just get a weave!

ANY form of hair extensions will rip out your hairline if not attached or cared for properly...as will relaxers. also, the bonding glue isn't supposed to be on your HAIR....it's supposed to be on the skin right around your hairline. if the glue is placed on your actual hair, DUH it's gonna pull it out when you brush/style your hair over time...i actually find that lace front/full lace wigs are easier on the hair because there is no added stress from a too tight weave/braids/ect.

FYI: on Flavor of love, seasons one and two...NY did NOT have a lace wig...her WEAVE is what looked a mess. she may have had a LW during ILNY, but im too sure...i DO know her hair game stepped up a bit during the filming of her own show, though....

as far as pricing goes, try to find out how much they are selling for in your area and base it off of that. personally i shop for mine on Ebay. lots of sellers have them between the $300-$600 range depending on length and style...but ive seen some REALLY pretty ones at the lower end of that price range. good luck!!!

    Thank you Vonnie, well said.

I wear a lace wig(full) most of the time., ano, my hair hasn't/isn't falling out.

PV will tell you how I think its my own hair, and I like to stand in the middle of the room when I'm high, and run my fingers through it in front of everyone

Anywho Lusci-poo, I actually bought mine on Ebay, and had it installed at Unik Hair Salon in Columbia, SC ($65).

My hairdresser was really surprised at the quality of my wig, because I bought it on Ebay(seller=Publishing Woman)for just under $300. I only got 16", cuz I like a more realistic look/length.

I would love to buy from you, at around the $300 range. I need something curly to alternate with.

I stand corrected I looked at Jayda's new "third" friend and the wig looks great actually! I guess I was spooked by horror stories and the NYC drag queens! lol! How do they stay on though? Is there lifting in the front, like when the hair gets wet in the shower or on vacation? Whats the maintainence? Thanks in advance!

If you have the "right" adhesive, then no, lifting isn't really a major issue. My bottle was $29.99

I sweat alot when I dance, and I only have minimal lifting after days, nothing that a lil touch up of the adhesive doesn't fix.

You can swim, shower, wash your hair etc. as well.

***do NOT use regular weave glue(latex) on your unit* I did this in an "emergency" at work once, and it glowed under the blacklight AND I got a major tongue-lashing from my hairdresser when she had to clean my wig

I love how they look, but for that price I need to decide if I want to have to deal with constant upkeep. Gluing, ungluing, salon appts. (I swear I'm allergic to the hair salon- I hate how unprofessional many of them are!

Yet while I have been running around to almost every beauty supply store I've been walking past to look for my braiding hair, I see the price for the hair & length I want is $110 a pack. I need 3 packs for my micros, then paying the braider which will be an additional $160. THEN if I want my bangs cut a certain way- I have to go somewhere else to get that done!

The money isn't really an issue since my braids last 2-3 months. If I was to pay for a LF I would want it in the exact style from the jump.

I likey this one Luscious...can you get hair like that? Or it is styled that way?

I'm still looking forward to buying my first lace front. I've been debating on getting either a partial or a full one? Anyone have a partial?

She does both, sometimes her hairline is out and sometimes it is the full wig.

I order mine off of Ebay. I'm ordering a new one tonight. I just hate it when the hair sheds. I have the kit to make them myself but I found out that it would be super time consuming. I love the Remy hair though. I use the Mity-Tite adhesive.

I have been thinking about getting one of these wigs. I spend ALOT of mony on weaves (last one cost $500) and it just a straight cornrows and sewn in.

Anyway does anyone know where in NYC I can get one installed?

how long do the lace front wigs last? If it lasts 6 months, then its worth it.. maybe even 4 months....any less than that, i would have to seriously think long and hard about it.

They do look nice tho. anyone care to explain more about the upkeep? Is it something you could do yourself?

i've had no hairline from the taking of my av (feb.-ish)

it did look nice tho, and i got one right b4 so it was probably my fault my hair line resembled Biscayne Bay ... just be careful when applying and removing- i'm back to sew-ins, they're a lot cheaper too

Looks good MissP! I may try the synthetic ones from the BSS. The rest are too much $$$ for too little time. If I need to spend hundreds, I don't want to have to mess with the hair for at least a month or two. I'll stick to the micros.
