Default I had a chemical facial peel today

The results are absolutely amazing. Anyone with acne or lots of comodones I highly recommend this peel.

It's the Cosmedix blueberry jessner peel.

My skin looks and feels smooth - like baby smooth. My derm said my skin will flake and peel in a couple of days so I have to use moisturiser morning and night, which i do anyway.

    It's fantastic!!

Is it true that you can only get a certain amount of these done in your lifetime? Like they remove too many layers of skin or something?

No it's not. You may be thinking of those peels done by surgeons like Samantha was it on sex and the city? those are very severe. You can get this chemical peel done a often as microdermabrasian.

With the stronger peels, you can do a series of them, but they do thin the layer of your skin (obviously--you're peeling off layers). So it's vital to use sunscreen and allow yourself several months between series for your skin to regenerate completely. It's all part of the healing process.

Phenol peels and laser peels are the kind where you can only have it done once or twice in a lifetime--but they are pretty major. One is anesthetized when undergoing a phenol peel and they take up to a year to heal.

From what I've read, TCA peels can be done in a series of up to 3 in roughly a month's time (depending on the strength of the peel and your skin's ability to tolerate it) and then you should wait at least 6 months before repeating it.

Is your face red? Are you allowed to wear makeup the next day?

Yeah I think this is what I'm thinking of. After seeing that sex and the city episode it kind of freaked me out but the one you're talking about sounds good.

You can wear makeup whenever u want. Straight after it if you want. It's no more severe than having microdermabrasian. In fact my face was less red than it is after microdermabrasian. I usually get micro done every 6 weeks but i might alternate between both of them. My face was prob red for only 20 mins afterwards.

    ^^^
LOL that must be why my bank account is looking sad right now

Well friday night at work my face was sooooooooooo dry. It was really difficult to wear make-up. He told me to expect some peeling. My chin area and the part of my cheeks nearest my nose peeled a lot. I had to wear really thick moisturiser and NO POWDER at all because my face felt and looked so dry. Then sat when I woke up I used a face washer to gently scrub the peeled skin off and sat night at work my face wasn't dry anymore. Now it looks really good.

My advise to anyone who wants to get it done: get it when you don't have to work for a few nights. I got it the day before work and it wasn't the best idea coz it was so hard to apply make-up and felt very uncomfortable.

I would highly recommend the procedure tho.
