Default questions that elicit a positive response

So I'm going to try the Dancer Wealth tip of asking 3 or so questions that elicit a positive response before asking for the dance. What questions do you use? I'm thinking of......

"This is a great club, isn't it?"
"Do you like my outfit? It's new/It's my fave."
"Did you enjoy the dance I did onstage?"
    "Great song, isn't it?"

But I don't want to say those 30x a night....

I'm amazed at how often this happens...

"Having a good day so far?"
    "No."
    "...."

It never fails, when I ask a customer if they're having a great time the answer I get is, "much better now."

Maybe they say "no" because they want you to make them feel better?

That's almost always the answer I get too, but there's some strange ones... they usually end up being the socially awkward sort that I guess doesn't know that's not really what you should say in BS conversation even if it's the truth?

I wouldn't even mess with this type because almost certainly, they're the nonspenders. I just tell them they must be dead broke or gay before walking off.

I can understand walking off but why say that?

Why not? One thing I like about the job is not having to hold back how I feel about people sometimes. If they are polite, I will be the same way. But if they act like a stuck up, too-good-to-be-here jackass, then fuck em.

I have been trying to do this also. All I can think of is questions that focus on your body or "new" accessories (I recycle). Ex: "Do you like my nails? tan? green eyeshadow?" I think it also gets a spender pumped if you lead his eyes up from your pedicure to a bracelet then the bronzing powder on your chest then giggle and ask if he's ready. I think it sets a pleasant image for the custie to think that what he pays me is going towards my vanity also. But I'd love to hear any suggestions for questions .

Your quote was when a guy said "no" to "are you having a good day. Since when does not having a good day and being honest about it make you a stuck up jackass?

The last guy at the club who was having a bad day told me, when I asked, that it was because his mother was dying. There is nothing wrong with the guys being honest with us.... especially when we are honest with them. Lots of guys come to the club because they have had a bad day and are trying to forget it and relax.

Now if you are talking about someone who is actually a jackass then that is differnet but I don't think that saying you had a bad day makes you a stuck up jackass.

    I just can't picture:

You: "Hi, having a good day so far?"
    Him: "No "
You: "Well you are probably broke and gay." *walks off*

That is taking things a bit too far IMO........

That's not what I meant at all. I take rejection professionally and there is a way to politely refuse somebody. But being a stuck up jackass like they are too good to be here and saying "No, I'm not having fun" like "No, all this hot ass and titties around me is not good enough".. well that's something else.

This is a perfect sales opportunity ....act like youre interested in why their day is bad and say something about being able to make it better, or help make it take a turn for the better. With the right smile and tone of voice, they'll be putty in your hands.

This is the most powerful closer for me! I use it all the time!

When they say no, it's a situation to use a reverse link.

So far we have these ideas for "yes" questions in this thread:

"This is a great club, isn't it?"
"Do you like my outfit? It's new/It's my fave."
"Did you enjoy the dance I did on stage?"
    "Great song, isn't it?"

"Having a good day so far?"
    "No."
    (turn it into a sale)

"Do you like my nails? tan? green eyeshadow?"

I'll add: "I bet you came here to get out of the heat?" -- hot summer
Or if they say they're stopping in after work: "Killing some time until the traffic dies down, huh?"

    Any other ideas to add?

your clubs must be different from any i've worked at, because pretty much anytime a guy has said "no" when i ask him if he's having a good day or whatever, he said it because he didn't hear what i said and is saying no to a dance. hence, he's a nonspender (at least on me).

i appreciate that they're honest so quickly, but i try to be friendly even to non-spenders. they did pay 20$ to be there, i don't mind giving them a whole minute to look busy and friendly to the spender who might be looking. well, that and it's good for our industry in the long run.

I'm a Cult Fan too! I dance to Firewoman all the time.

I take the mentality that it's my job to change a No into a Yes. I know the type of custy you are talking about, 50% of the time they're miserable and you can't change their mind. The other 50% of the time I close a sale with them, it just takes perseverence. Disclaimer: when it's busy I move on, but when it's slow and my other option is to sit at the bar and sulk....I persevere.

    My typical conversation

"Have you been here before?" leading to "No"

oh really?! Do you live in the area? which can lead to yes or no.

If yes ask if theyve been here before. If they havent - Let them know what theyve been missing out on being from the area/why it took so long to finally come into the club. If they have I pretty much tell them what a great time they had and how Im so glad they came back, etc.

If theyre from out of town (i ALWAYS get out of towners) I ask how different this club compared to the ones back home- which is funny because ill know a lot about their homeclubs from SW. lol

Ill do like 2 close ended questions before I get to the open ended one leading to a good conversation - opening up to - OMG we should dance!!! out of the friggen blue in the middle of their excitement talking about this wonderful place.

^^ This entire conversation lasts about a minute before I go in for the dance.... but could last a good 3-4 minutes if needed. I never sit more than one song unless a drink is on the way. I have 0 patience.
