It's not til after Indy which means late October/early November.
Yet I'm tossing around ideas now so that I will have the $$ when it does happen....
* Go to New Zealand for a week long (7 nights or longer) holiday - do white water/rapids rafting and/or a sky dive ON the actual day of my birthday and/or hot air ballooning whilst also being a tourist. Have no idea which cities or places to visit yet.
Note: I have never ever been to New Zealand.
* Go to Las Vegas again for the min. 5 night stay (it's a visa requirement thing that the visit must be a min. of 5 nights and the cost would mean I wouldn't be able to afford to stay for a whole week).
I went to Las Vegas back in 2002 or 2003... so it's been AGES and I loved it there.
* Go to somewhere else in the USA for a min. 5 night stay (have not been back to the US not counting my Las Vegas trip since 1994 - whatever place is suggested must NOT be a cold type of climate that time of year! I STRONGLY dislike the cold.)
* Go back to Darwin and actually check out some of the National Parks and be a tourist instead of like my previous visits (where I was working and missed out on being a tourist) for 5-7 nights.. I have a couple of friends up there so I won't be "alone" and I really like Darwin.
* Go to Cairns for 5-7 nights .. no friends however last time I was there I enjoyed it - http://cairnsinfo.com/
* Stay home (Gold Coast) and be a tourist in my own home - rent out room in a hotel/resort then http://www.verygc.com/things_to_see_...adventure.html - hot air balloon, sky dive and the shooting academy (never EVER shot a gun in my life!) and then there are the restaurants here as well as doing things like Dreamworld, Moviewold, Seaworld, Australia Zoo, Wet N Wild (all the theme parks which I have NOT done in what seems forever).
I'm determined to spend a good couple of grand on this as I have been soooooooooooo looking forward to my 30th birthday for many years and want to make damn sure it doesn't become a fizzle like previous birthdays (last few years have been easily forgettable - nothing special).
