Default help me decide where to work in SF?

    opinions please?

In San Francisco...based on other club chat posts, I'm thinking of auditioning at either Condor, Gold club or Hustler. Which one would you pick to work at (and why)? Which ones are cleanest? Which has the best money/clientele? Management? Most lenient scheduling requirements? (didn't really find much about that in other posts). Is there another club you'd recommend over the ones I listed?

Any opinions/info is much appreciated, but please no blanket negative "money sucks everywhere in SF"-type comments. I'm going to SF for school so working elsewhere isn't an option. (I might try Reno during the summers, but I can't be driving 3-4 hours up there during the school year.) I know SF isn't the best city in the world for dancing, but I'm just going to have to make it work regardless, so I want to try and find the best possible option.

    Many thanks.

QFT!! I have paid some of the highest pay outs of my life in the past few months at Hustler (night shift). I stay there because it's been worth it. There is money in SF as long as you stay focused and have a good work ethic!! No extras required.

aymiekim pretty much answered you scheduling question, but I want to add that you submit your schedule each week for the following week, so you're not on a permanent schedule--you are open to change your schedule from week to week to fit your life.

^^ oh awesome...that's how I'm used to doing my schedule. (Then I went to PA and found that all the major clubs make you schedule yourself by the month--yuck! ) And I've worked Deja Vu clubs before, so high pay outs aren't a shock--as long as the money's worth it.

If I go to GC or Hustler, will I be able to start on night shifts, or do they make you work days at first? (or do they have a "one day shift per week" requirement like some other Deja Vu clubs?) I know they wouldn't keep me off nights based on looks...but do either of those clubs have required day shifts as a policy?

If you audition for night shift and get hired, I haven't seen them make girls work a day to work nights. However, they have been known to request that girls work a Sunday or Monday night. That's all on a case by case basis, though.

what about if you live outside of San Fran? Do they discourage people from working there that live outside the city?

No. They just prefer to hire girls who can commit to working on a regular basis. Like, they want a schedule and everything.

There are plenty of girls who live in Sac, Santa Rosa and other places who come in to work several nights a week.

Uhhh...speaking of GC, I don't want to tell you not to go there, because the fancy look of it and the location tends to bring more wealthy customers than other clubs. But - be warned - Rodney, the day manager, is not always so reasonable as aymiekim said (I'm sure he is to some people, I thought he was great at first too). Every single girl I worked with over the summer got fired, and they couldn't have all been dirty girls (though a few were for sure...). I've heard story after story of Rodney crossing the line with girls, requesting favors of them (I even heard some of this from another manager), etc. I was told not to go there but I wanted to take the chance.

Oh, and for the record, it is not as "clean" of a place as one might think. I would recommend Hustler, that's where I am. There isn't much room for extras there, at least not as much as GC.

Agreed. It really isn't. More goes on in that Champagne Room than you'd think (yes, even though it's not completely private!). Depends on who's working, and who's paying who to look the other way (as what happens at most clubs). But it's still a wonderful club, and one of the cleanest to work at in the city by far.

OK so I have to ask...because both GC and Hustler are Deja Vu clubs and I'm curious.

I work at a Deja Vu club now, and while I like the club in every other respect, their music is horrible. The selection is limited to the point of being ridiculous and mind-numbing. And it's ALL either rock (which I hate) or cheesy 90's dance-pop. No R&B or Latin music at all (not that I dance to that anyway, but it's nice to hear variety all night long!) And to my horror--no techno at all. (I'm not talking about crazy off-the-wall music, just basic techno staples--they won't even play Benny Benassi.)

So is this just my club, or are all Deja Vu clubs like this with music? Do they actually play a normal variety of current music in different genres (including hard techno/house) at either GC or Hustler in SF?

Wow, that is strict. The only club I've ever known to be really anal w/their music was the Hungry I. But it comes and goes depending on how bitchy managers/DJ's are feeling. I'd have to say GC and Hustler were alot more relaxed when I was there. I could play almost whatever I wanted, except a few of my Rob Zombie songs (House of 1000 corpses and Pussy Liquor).

    LOL

Gary? I've heard he's just as...er...naughty with a few choice dancers. every girl for herself though.

I've always worked night shift at the GC, 3x's a week...I pick my schedule a week in advance and I love the housemama's! Payouts can be STEEEP if you make good money for the night, WAYYY steeper than they used to be, BUT, if you get in at 7pm (on time) and make bad $$ or no money, I believe there is no payout required of you....
