Default HaHa, I love cows now.

So in my little off-the-interstate club, we get a ton of truckers. But a lot of national companies don't allow their drivers to park in strip club lots.
I always just assumed we were losing out on that business, but we're still busy so oh well.

We are right next to the sale barn, however. (That's where they auction off cattle.) It always stinks and you can hear all the damn cows and even the auctioneers, which is extremely annoying. -Most guys are actually suprised how nice it is IN the club because of how it is OUTSIDE of the club.-

So last night, I had three different customers, all truckers, that told me they just park at the sale barn and walk to the club! I thought it was hilarious!

Anyway, not really a point to this, I was just laughing about it. I'm not so annoyed by the stinky cows anymore.

I was thinking maybe you'd seen a girl bring a cow onstage.

But then as I read it, I thought maybe an annoying custie got stomped by a cow.

I don't think you realize the true horror of what goes on right next to you.

That's good info and definitely true in some cases, sadly.

However there are many cruelty free ranches and processing places. Your local co-op should be a place to get fresh, good quality, cruelty free meat.

Yes, not all who sell at an auction house raise their animals in that manner.

Agreed there are some places that are better than others. But even "free range" cows go to regular slaughter houses. And about 98% of animals are factory farmed, so the chance that the one next to her represents something very horrible for the animals is almost a given. Even in the best ones, though, animals are still separated from everything and everyone they know (they're even more loyal to their kin than dogs are).

    what she said....
i used to dream militant dreams / of taking over america / to show these white folks how it should be done
i used to dream radical dreams / of blowing everyone away / with my perceptive powers of correct analysis
i even used to think / id be the one to stop the riot and negotiate the peace / then i awoke and dug
that if i dreamed natural dreams / of being a natural woman
doing what a woman does / when shes natural
    i would have a revolution

Umm, I don't think you can compare selling a cow to selling a human being. That's pretty offensive and condescending to anyone whose ancestors were slaves.

Also, I'm from Wisconsin. I know cows. I can garuntee you that cows aren't commonly treated like that. In fact, cows are often auctioned at state fairs and stuff like that. I've been to a few actually (what, its Wisconsin)....and there was nothing fucked up going on.

    Total threadjack, but:

Responsibly raised and slaughtered meat IS available. Widely. Almost anywhere with an agrarian suburb close to you will have a cruelty free coop. You just have to look.

The steak I eat is from a cow that lives in a field, with access to a barn whenever they want it. They're, to be cliche, happy cows. They're sold at auctions in town. The ones that are slaughtered are slaughtered by our local amish community. Clean and humane.

I resent the fact that people assume just because you want to eat a cow you support animal abuse. Responsibly grown meat is more widely available than the shock-mongers at PETA want you to beleive. And you're supporting local economy, families that subsist and have for years, generations, on their land and livestock.

Can you pop down to Walmart and get it? No. You can't. It takes a bit of (worthwhile) effort.

Also - people that buy cattle from auctions are not buying them to factory process. Factory processing plants have the cows go to THEM. It's bought "on the hoof" from farmers and ranchers who have preexistent contracts. There's no auction, they just get run over a scale.

People buying from auctions are breeders, families who want meat, butcher shop owners, etcetera. In 99% of cases, that's true. Animals for mass slaughter are processed much more quickly without auctioning at all.

haha......... wait, was that a serious question? have you ever been to a farm or anywhere cows/cattle are kept(rodeo/roping contest?)? they pretty much piss and crap all over each other when they are crowded and lay in whatever is on the ground. plus unless it belongs to a 4H club kid or is going to be sold they pretty much never get washed....... unless it rains.

Still sounds like it's a sad life to be a cow. If only they knew what was coming to them. That's just like saying, "We're gonna make you comfortable and treat you very well before we cut your throat, drain the blood, and kill you."

also to add to the threadjacking, i love how only the despicable slaughter houses end up on these vids. most of the time the death of the animal is pretty quick, but you only seem to be able to find the ones of the animals kicking, bleating, the guys laughing in the background and making a ruckus. just like with paintball, its much easier to find a video of a few douchebags riding around shooting people than the actual sport being properly played.
