Basiclly i spoile them.
And all i ask is for a little more then the $5 min tip out and a little respect but no i get the min. and i have tried just doing the least amount for them but then they just start yelling at me for it and then trun around cut my tips. i have tried talking to manegment and i quote dude there fucking strippers.

the best way to make money is not to ask for it. If you do your job and don't bitch about tips, eventually they will warm up to you and you'll get them.

How many dancers are working anyways?? If you get 5 minimum and there's 20 dancers, that's still 100 dollars, sometimes dancers don't make that in a night, be grateful.

If you want to make stripper money- be a stripper. You're a dJ, you play music, fully clothed. Just because you work in a strip clu does not mean you're going to be going home with hundreds of dollars a night-- unless the girls go home with 100s of dollars a night, you're above fantastic and they like you.

dont shine bright white lights on them, dont play their songs too long, if you notice they are trying to hustle a custie, delay putting them back up on stage for a couple songs if your managers dont mind and then let them know you did so later.

your money depends on their money, so if theyre not making a lot theyre not gonna tip a lot. id say maybe the girls arent making much money at your club? do you know how much they are making? it might not even be them being rude, it might just be that there is very little money making potential at the club youre at. if they make a little extra theyre not gonna tip more. now if they make a LOT extra they probably will. it doesnt necessarily have anything to do with you

I tip the DJ extra when he puts me on stage when I want and doesn't put me up when I don't. He notices when I order food or am in the middle of making good $$ with a guy and doesn't put me up even when I don't say anything.

I tip extra well when the DJ remember that I hate going on stage 3 and prefer not to do so at all (we don't do rotation, we stay at the same stage we're called to)

Are your dancers allowed to pay off stage? I pay $20 for that.

One other thing... How much discretion do you have about putting girls on stage? I've worked clubs where it was completely up to the manager, and at others where the DJ had a lot of leeway.

Monday night was DEAD in my club. Then we got lots of customers, but nobody was tipping at ALL. So the DJ said over the mic, "If you guys can't even afford a dollar, you're in the wrong damn place!" and "If you guys won't take care of my girls, then I'm not putting them up there. These girls don't get paid to be here--they PAY to be here. They work for your tips and tips ALONE, so either get up there with your dollar or you'll be watching an airstage!" Sure enough, the dancer got NO tips on-stage, so the DJ gave us all a break and let us do airstage for about a half-hour, until the customers started complaining and promised to tip better.

I tipped the DJ an extra $5 on top of my minimum $15 that night just for being so cool and sticking up for us.

as stated above it seems that your club isn't a high money club, so if the girls cap out at $200 bucks per night, good luck trying to squeeze more than your $5 out of them. another thought thou, is also to make each girl feel like you're personally looking out for her, like ask her whether she prefers to go up a lot or not, and other factors that you can influence, but make it seem even more personalized, and at the end of the night come up to her, touch her arm and be like "oh did you like how i ...made the lights low the way you like it..." "i saw you trying to hustle that guy and i skipped you" "you seem like you did really good tonight , good job"... stuff like that
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

It's great that you try to help them, but as everyone has said.. there's probably not enough money potential at your club for them to be more generous with you. If I only made 2 or 3 hundred a night, I would only tip the minimum too, no offense but just being honest. It doesn't mean they don't like you or purposely want to make it hard for you to earn a living, they just want to take home as much money as they can too. Maybe you could check around for better clubs with more girls?

See, that doesn't sound like tons of cash to me. I would say that if that qualifies as excellent money, then you might be doing OK with $5 tipout.

    MadMonk-

It sounds like you're working in a club where nobody is making a lot of money...esp if you consider as you said, 3-500 dollars being tons of cash, or that its a big deal that somebody made 100 dollars off one customer....

Now, don't get me wrong, that girl should have still tipped you out 20%... i mean, that's how I worked with one DJ...he would refer people to me, knowing I would always tip him for it. When I made money, he made money. Etc.

Are you sure you are playing music the girls like to dance to? I like R&B but I dance to house and hard rock. Maybe ask them each to make a list of songs they like.

If you refer them to customers, etc, they should be tipping you out more.

Honestly, it may just be that the girls there always tip minimum and that they don't make a lot of money....

Thank you! I was scratching my head wondering if I was the only one who didn't think that 300$ was such a great deal.

Nowadays $300 is pretty good money to me. Although, if I make that, I don't tip out a whole lot more because I need it. I don't know how the economy is where you are, but it sucks where I am and I feel like I need every dollar I make and if all the girls are only tipping minimum and you feel like you are going above and beyond your duties of being a DJ, then I think those girls are also suffering from our economy. When I have a good day, I try to tipout more but sometimes, I just really can't afford it.

To answer your question, no (at least I don't) care that my DJ is trying to help. I appreciate it yes, but I know I'll make money with or without the DJ.

I also think it wouldn't be a bad idea to inform these girls (every last one of them) "Hey, you take care of me, I'll take care of you" If they ask what you're talking about..tell them.

    Can I just interject something?

We need to remember that dancers and DJ's are on the same team. So, for that matter, is waitstaff and management and bouncers. We're all working toward the same goal: making money. When everyone remembers that and helps each other out, it works GREAT!

I always tip my DJ well. As a result, he's been known to point men in MY direction, because he knows I'm one of the few girls that will actually tip him more than the minimum. If I have a GREAT night (which here is defined as over $400), I'll even tip my MANAGER, who doesn't do a whole lot. As a result, guess what? My manager always points his friends in my direction and tells them I'm the best dancer he's got. I never, ever, ever order drinks from the bar or a waitress without tipping at least $1 or $2. As a result, the waitstaff and bartender recommend me to customers.

I take care of the other people in my club whenever I possibly can. If anyone refers me to a high-roller and I end up making some good money, I ALWAYS kick it back in the form of tips. They know I do this, so they send more people my way.

Just Monday night I ended up sitting at a table with a guy who had over $180 in his wallet (I saw), but the guy showed ZERO interest in me. He did, however, express an interest in another girl at the club. So when I got up, I went to tell that girl that the guy had money and was interested in her, but he really wasn't into me. She got $150 out of the guy, and tipped me $20 for sending her over.

And I guess my point with this whole vent is that perhaps it's time that we start looking at our DJ's, waitstaff, bouncers, doorstaff, VIP hosts, managers, and other dancers as allies instead of enemies.

^^^^Oh, I totally agree with this! I've worked in some clubs where giving out above and beyond tips helps you out more $$$wise in the longrun. Then again, I've worked in other clubs where they just look at a tip as a tip.

I haven't had a crew like the one Morgan just described since I worked my first club. Man, I miss those times...

I will add that the crew is not like that for everyone. I was talking to the manager about it one (slow) night, and he said that he will always send someone to me first if I'm available because a)he knows I'll tip him for the referral, b)he knows I'll be a good "ambassador" for the club (i.e., I don't dance dirty but my customers always say that I give the best dance they've ever had), and c)he knows I'm reliable and a good hustler (I don't drink at work, don't do drama, etc.), and d)he likes the fact that I actually do my OWN marketing (via MySpace and business cards) and work hard to bring my own customers into the club.

In addition to the tips I give (which, of course, is of paramount importance), I'm also always nice, polite, and drama-free to all the waitstaff and dancers. If I notice a guy being a big tipper, I'll point waitstaff in his direction and order more drinks while I'm sitting with him (so that he'll drink more and tip more).

I've also had nights where I was working a high-roller and was busy, and in the bathroom or at the DJ booth, I hear girls talking about how there's no money in the club. I'll say, "See that guy over there in the blue shirt? He's good for one or two dances. The guy with the black hat, over there? He's got money. Give him a try; you'll probably get a bill." I'm not losing anything--I don't have time to get those money guys, and it helps them out. They then come back and tip me for it when they make their money.

I think SCs work best when money is fluid. Everyone advises everyone else, and everyone tips out the people that advise them. The money all kind of flows through the club, and it increases money for EVERYONE.

Well I agree with what everyone else said about your dancers money.. maybe they aren't making a lot each night. Personally I tip around 10-20% of what I make because the DJ's I work with take care of me. They let me take my time getting ready when I first come on and only rush me to go on stage when absolutely necessary. They don't inappropiatly touch or flirt with me. They always play my music. They let me leave when I want. They don't put me up with certain dancers when I request. They encourage me and support me. Basically they treat me like VIP and make sure I have everything I have or need for a successful night.

i under stand that if they dont make any money i wont make any money and i dont want to make stripper money. what i am asking is how can i make a little extra when they make extra?
That really makes me mad. Why do you think you are entitled to any of the EXTRA money they make? Maybe your problem is your greedy and they can see through your kiss ass routine for more money.

We actually have a house mom where I work who is about 6 months new. She is always KISSING major ass. She doesn't give a shit about us.. she's totally transparent. If you don't tip her over her minimum she can't bother with you. If you tip her though she races around like a chicken with her head off. All she wants is MORE money though. So maybe that's how your dancers see you?

Like another poster said if you want stripper money... strip.
