Maybe it seems like too much pressure for the guys. The dayshift guys are there to relax after work and have some kind attention. They don't like hustle. They have plenty of money and will spend it on the right girl. This is where you will make regulars who will make your entire day worthwhile in one sitting. Be a bit more patient and give it some time. Dayshift guys generally have somewhere to go soon and limited time but need a minute to unwind and like to feel comfortable, no pressure. Good luck!

I work mid-shift at my club too most of the time (6-12). Five songs is a long time to sit, but that's the difference between night shift hustle and day time slow flow. Taking the time out may lead to a regular customer for you which may long over pay for those five songs. If he wants you sit for a few more songs before PD's then that means he's interested in you (most of the time).

If I think they're BSing me I usually tell them I'd love to sit and talk with them more because I find them (interesting, cute, etc.)--make it about them. So how about for chatting here you give me 50% (of whatever your per song PD is). If you drink and need one..say sure but would you like to buy me a drink? So if they renig on dances...you got a little something.

If you think they really want dances you can ride it out for the 2-3 more songs to see and make that your final offer when those songs are up...you're PDing or getting up. Or you can tell them you'll check on them in a little while...wait the 3 songs and go back to check. But...it opens them up to other girls if you do it that way.

Just work on finding a balance and you'll be fine. You'll also find day customers spend more too when the night shift is approaching, they want to spend the rest of their budget for the day or need to make good on their promises. That's when you can turn on the hustle for the rest of the night.

Hmm. I don't know if dudes will be willing to pay you for your conversation when there are other day/swing shift girls that will probably do it for free.

I work the swing shift and I usually try to project my own sense of urgency, it is important to appear busy, whether you are only going to chat with the dj, or say hi to a group that came in, whatever, try to act like you are the most in demand dancer there.

If they say they need a little time, say, "great! You have fun! I promised someone a dance in a bit, but I'll be back to molest you when I'm done! Thanks for letting me sit for a minute!" Don't assume that you need to waste all of your time with them. Of course establish some common ground during the first song, but if he doesn't say yes to a dance right away, you don't need to waste your time with him, go try to sell someone else and then go back to him. If he is watching you and sees that you didn't actually go dance for someone, I usually will pout to him and say, "he said he changed his mind, and wanted to wait a while. I wanted to go get naked now though." or something.

Also, since you are technically a new girl to these guys, try to play it up, talk about how you are a "night girl" but are trying out the earlier crowd. Most custy's assume the night chicks are better anyway, so they'll see you in a new light.

I'll add more later, I have more to say, but I'm late to work!!!! Good luck.

I'd say they're playing you. Even during the day shift, I don't take more than 2 songs to ask for a dance. In fact, I have my best luck hustling right from the stage after my set. A customer knows almost right away whether he wants a dance with you.

IF one of the "spend more time with me" guys actually does buy a dance, he'll be the type to buy ONE and then act like you owe him the rest of your shift because he did you such a favor.

I use the same line you do when they want to "talk for a few more minutes" - tell them the couches are more comfortable and you can move over there to prepare for the dances. If he won't budge, he definitely isn't getting a dance. A lot of the day/swing shift guys are professional black holes - the pull you over, your attention goes in, and nothing ever comes back out!

On the other hand, if a guy buys a good number of dances from me, I'm happy to sit and chat him up a few more songs on the couches if it's slow and I'm not due on stage. However, after a few good dances, most men are mysteriously ready to pay and run straight for the door!

Whenever a guys says "in a few songs" it's always bad news for me. Now I just say "okay, I'll come back in a few songs, then. See you soon!" Or you could ask him to pay upfront. "Sure I'll stay another few songs before the dance. How many songs do you want me to dance for? Okay, that will be X amount."

Yeah, that's too long, Joplin. Two songs instead of thirty seconds is a slower dayshift hustle. Five songs is too long.

I guess 5pm is too late for this, but on the contrary, during the day a lot of guys want to get their dances and get out to get back to work or back to the house or whatever, so there can actually be less timewasting than at night.

Good advice. Poster is right though.. it's usually a little slower during the day when guys just start to come out of work and etc... When there are a lot of guys I start with the wanna dance? method making sure I introduce myself and ask them where they are from. That usually takes 1 minute tops. When I have exhausted that angle I find the guy who seems like the easiest target and sit for about one song. If that doesn't work then I get super aggressive and start talking a lot of shit. Normally 1 out of 3 approaches works for me. I don't like to sit for more than one set though unless it's a regular. I would rather go and bull shit in the dressing room or sit and chat up the bar- tender.

They're playing you. I usually hit the floor around 7, and I never ever ever sit for anything like five songs before asking for a dance. I barely even sit for one. Hell, even when I work the occasional day shift I don't sit for five songs. Maybe you are hitting up the wrong guys.

5-7 is pretty much a wash at my club too, unless you find that one cool guy

^ It's commuting time. You'll get guys in usually around 5 or 6 who are dropping in after work, or letting traffic die down, but it is a slow period. Don't give up though! I think any new club, or new sched. deserves a week or two to figure out.

you have to sit and become friends with them for a GOOD amount of songs, and by friends act lke you dont even want to dance and that theyre special or seem cool thats why your talking to them

after a while they will want you to dance for them for many songs or most likely vip.

theres never really anyone that will get a bunch of dances early with a hustle aproach but if you use this way they will .

its the best way for early and it holds you out untill late where you can do a fast paced hustle

I can't do the day shift hustle. Just not for me I am too antsy.

Look at day shift as a clientele building shift. The customers for the most part are older and more established, and many come to the clubs to see their favorites.

This is a shift you have to stick with, and go through a weeding out process of customers. I wouldn't initially sit with guys for 4-5 songs, as you don't know their motives about spending money. Some girls sit too long and get burned.

When a club is slow, girls tend to sit with guys longer for obvious reasons.
I would sit for maybe 3 songs, and then use your sales skills to get several dances, and then if there are no more prospects, sit with the guy again in order to attempt to get several more.

Over time you may establish a group of regular guys who come in just to see you and who buy 5-6 dances or more each visit. You'll want to exchange numbers with the select guys who seem decent so that you will be at work when they are able to come in.
