    Default tip walks

I did use the search function but got nothing so.....

I have alot of questions now that I'm going to be working somewhere else. Okay, tip walks....never done them. They weren't done at my club. So the girl gets off the stage and goes around and asks every guy whether he was watching or not and asks him for a dollar? Is this mandatory to do?? Or do most places leave it up to you?? And how do you handle someone who says they don't want to tip you? Is it mandatory that they tip?? Help!

Well my club has the tip walk. You don't have to do it but then why go on stage?? When the guys sit at the tip rail they are expected to tip the dancers. I go up to each guy and say hi and hold my boobs together which is the "signal" to give me a dollar. Sometimes we turn around and shake our ass and then get another dollar. They guys can tip in our cleavage, garters or hand. If they are being dicks and not pulling out the money then I will try to be nice first and say something like "Hey.. is this your first time here? Well just so you know.. this is the part where you tip me!" usually that works. Depending on my mood and their attitude I can be a bitch if they take too long or especially if they are like "Are you going to work for it?" I just got off stage so I don't do all that dancing in the tip walk for a dollar. Usually if a guy is being a big asshole I can tell the bouncer and he will explain to the guy how the tips work. This is at my club though so might be completely different where you work!

Tip walks are stupid, IMO. I worked during a working vacation at a club that had the tip walk. One of the girls got pissed at me for not "making" the guy I was sitting with tip her. Tip walks go against the unwritten rule of not approaching a guy that another girl is sitting with. And on top of that, all of the sudden the other girl is at fault when the guy doesn't want to tip? Dumb!

I've never HAD to do them, but I always got my tip out money from them. I just walk around and hold out my g-string strap to each guy. Smile, pop your hip out, say something along the lines of, "Did you like my show?" if they try to be cheap.
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.

I've worked at a few clubs with tip walks. You walk the whole room and greet every customer. Most of them will automatically tip because they know how the club works and it's considered very rude for someone not to tip. Girls get angry when a dancer is sitting with a nontipping customer because tips might be the only way the dancers are making money and in a way it is tip blocking. I would never sit with a customer who wasn't tipping the other girls at a tip only club. Only exception is if I know that the girl is making good tips off the guy, then I wouldn't worry about the dollar.

You don't have to do a tip walk but that's money you are throwing away and customers will think you are rude if you don't go up to them for a tip. You can't force a customer to tip. If a customer refuses, go on to the next one. If he is just sitting there and not putting any money into the bar, then you can probably get him kicked out.

I've worked at many clubs that have tip walks. It wasn't mandatory that you did them, but everybody did them because at some clubs, it was how you made the majority of your money. It wasn't mandatory for customers to tip you, but most of them would tip and would have a dollar ready for you when you come off stage. I just walk away from the ones who don't tip me without saying a word. lol

What I like about tip walks is that it lets me know which customers are interested in me and which ones aren't. If a guy gives me more than the standard $1 tip or tells me to come back and see him when I'm done with my tip walk, I make sure to approach him. On the other hand, if a guy acts like I'm bothering him when he hands me his dollar or refuses to tip me, then I know not to waste my time approaching him later.
