Angry where's the decency or compassion? a rant.

My husband is the Dj in the same club I work at.

He is also a heart patient with an artificial heart valve.

He started having chest pains and his face went numb and was cold but sweating tonight at work.

They know we are married, yet they fined me $100. just to take him to the fucking Emergency room. As if I'm going to stay there and attempt to make money while my husband is ill ? More to the fucking point how was he supposed to get there drive himself with chest pains, nearly blacking out just walking to the damned car?

How the fuck are you going to fine somebody for living up to their marriage vows and wanting to be with their husband when he is obviously sick? What the hell.

I'm pissed. Because on top of it all they tried to tell him he couldn't leave...until the other dj got there.

Um...chest pains....I don't think so. I blew a fuse. really badly blew my fuse. I packed up his computer and geared the shit club computer up to hit auto pilot and pretty much informed management here ya go. have fun with it.

I walked out. I now have a fine. He now has a fine. Same as mine. And I have another fine for "causing a scene" which is another $100.

I didn't do this "scene" on the floor, I did it in the office away from other dancers, customers, and staff. But don't tell me I can't take my husband to the Emergency room.

We just got home. He has some pulled muscles in his back which was causing the chest pains, along with a pinched nerve that caused his face to go numb. He's fine, except for that and a really elevated blood pressure. But it could have been something worse and they didn't care as long as they were making money.

Switch clubs ! That is SO fucked up. Do they not realize that if he were to die they could have a law suit on thier hands for insisting he stay ? Dude. I would try talking to the owner or someone about that once you calm down.
Feel the fear and do it anyway.

...tell em every day he has a chest pain, you are going to call the cops and EMS to render help since management is so stupid they dont realize he could die. Tell em their stupidity will cause the club to pay the EMS bill as well as keep having the cops show up at the club. Tell them you want a written reason for the fine , a receipt, with a signature and date for a tax write off. However, the real reason is to have evidence should you want to sue them someday.

That's fucked up! Please don't ever go back there! WiseGuy has a great point, sirens and paramedics would've caused a bigger, more expensive scene.

I'm glad your husband is going to be okay.

I'm glad your husband is okay. Chest pains need to be taken seriously, especially with his medical history. It's hard to go back to a place like that when you find out what people are really like. They expected you to parade around and flirt and hustle and make money when your husband has a medical emergency. Fuck that. Then on top of that they fine him, too?

No one deserves to be treated like that.

isn't it expected though? to work in this type of industry to have to deal with that type of unfair behaviour and people. I'm sure not everywhere but working in an environment where it's all about making cash and fast then u have to take the good with the bad.

Maybe it's a sign to get out and find work elsewhere where at least both of your health isn't at risk..both mentally and physically.

^^No. I've worked in plenty of clubs that would have been fine with her taking her husband to the hospital. And would have sent flowers the next day, too.

The owner called us yesterday to check on my husband. He actually sounded rather pissed his management team had acted the way they had toward my hubby.

My feelings are still hurt. My fines and that of my husband, according to the owner are gone when we come back IF we bring his discharge papers. My husband is cool with that.

So I took in his doctor's note last night around 9 before everything got busy at the club.

It seems a lot of girls took walk out fines over the treatment of him. He is the best DJ we have. The other fill in/day DJ is a jerk.

So to keep girls from quitting I guess the Owner decided that kissing ass was the best course of action.

Personally we both put our resumes up on Monster.com and he got several positive responses in terms of views from normal IT companies.

I am however really hurt that we got that kind of treatment from a club we have been at for so many years. I've worked there for almost 6 years now.

Anyways, Until we can get some debt paid down or find new jobs we are sort of stuck going back. But at least the fines are gone. And now I know they don't deserve the loyalty we have given them.
