    Default Competition Music

Soooo...I decided to go all-out on this one and challenge my pants off, all pun absolutely intended.

We're having this competition and basicly it's scored upon *pulls out paperwork* sensuality, showmanship, story line, originality/creativity, costumes/props, music, and overall entertainment value.

I decided that my ballet training offered me the best hope so I decided to kind of glue bits and pieces of Copelia and Cinderella together. Basic idea being doll wishes she was human girl so she could dance wicked, doll magicly transforms into human girl at rave, doll is sad after realising that she will never truly be a real girl and eventually turns back into doll. (If this was a real ballet piece she would end by dying but that's a touch morbid for this imho)

Anyway, I picked the music to tightly fit that story arc, but all of it is also compatible for use with my gimmic du jour for this show...which I would love to disclose but I'm keeping it as quiet as possible in places where other competitors may be.

Lonely Little Petunia~Imogen Heap (the version I have decided to name itself "Loose Ends.")
    Moonlight~Ferry Corsten
    Hide And Seek~Imogen Heap

I know, I know, everybody and their mom in the dance world (okay, not in the stripper world, I'm talking jazz, modern, etc) does Hide and Seek, but I think it would be interesting to try my hand at it.

If you're not familliar with the tracks, check them out at amarticia.muxtape.com

What do you guys think? Especially you DJ boys out there?

    While I'm not quite sure what you seek...as far as your song line-up...it kinda makes me ponder the benefits of orally ingested high velocity lead poisoning in a .45 caliber tablet form. If a line-up that could be seen as similar but without the "all the artsy fartsy kids are doin it" factor maybe these selections will work;

A Day In The Graveyard II - Sunset Rubdown (chimey tinkerbell shite...real "artsy")

Little Lover's So Polite (The One AM Radio Remix) - Silversun Pickups (Chick angst in a fine form)

Digital Witchcraft vs. Imogen Heap - Fingerpaint & Hide and Seek (JF Remix-Mashup) ....(A rework of the "overplayed" original)

Astral Projection - Chaos (Bizzare Contact Remix) ....Just for shits and giggles your "doll" was kidnapped by aliens!!

That's twice in one night I have wanted to clone someone.

I have been indulging a bit tonight, so maybe this is a bit off--but the first thing that comes to mind is the techno remix of Annie Lenox 'Little Bird'. I need to get that into my hard drive, come to think of it. If you have a dance background, you will probably like it.

Am I that disgustingly obvious when it comes to being artsy? *Mentally goes through her fave songs to perform to* Shit...I really am, arn't I?! FACEPALM.

For the record, Silversun Pickups need to die in a hole with James Blunt. Furthermore, my original choice for Hide and Seek was to use the Tiesto ISOS 6 version, unfortunately it put me waaaaay over the time limit. Mind you I have about 14 seconds worth of editing to do anyway but that's easy peasy. If I was cool, skillfull, and had a working copy of Ableton I'd totally make my own little mix fading from Tiesto to the original, but I am uncool, majorly lacking skill, and despite multiple attempts I am still without a working cracked copy of any version of Ableton...for I suck.

Getting me to tweak out is virtually impossible...I'm arguably one of the most calm, passive people on earth...unless I hate you anyway and you proceed to piss me off at which point I will be screaming at you like a rabid mongoose and bending you over to shove my stilletto up your ass after which I'll force you to pay for a new pair of shoes.

Steve is indeed somewhat intellegent in the music department (even if he should be shot for liking Paramore ) and he is directly responsible for the Ferry Corsten portion of the show but I'm a huge fan of getting as many outside oppinions as humanly possible. It's like Wikipedia; the knowledge of the masses is greater than the knowledge of one.
