Why is it I have this vision of 40 year old moms keeping the family video game console away from their kids so they can do yoga?

That's just smart marketing IMO.... making it relevant to the WHOLE family plus it spreads the market out to people like me who may even consider purchasing one now they offer fitness/exercise related games ....

I have a wii, and I soooo need to get some of those games. I think it's an awesome idea, probably because I lost all my baby weight playing dance dance revolution on my playstation.

gaming and working out AT THE SAME TIME! WOOT!

That could be really good or really bad. I'll definately be reading the reviews before purchasing one.

Yep, this is so true. It definitely largely widens Wii's target market.

I wouldn't buy one though. I mean, I have my scales for weight and I enjoy working out at the gym.
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

Worse things could happen to a kid. Sharing is not so bad.

I think it's a poor substitute for actually doing something, but if it gets most lazy Americans off their asses, I am kosher with it, lol!

When my son, tremendously excited about the Wii his gf bought him, told his mom that there was a tennis game simulation and that she should come to my house to play it, she replied, and I quote: "Why would I want to do that? I already know how to play tennis."

Yup. Until future generations of Wii-like products approach the level of play and fun of real tennis, I won't be playing either.

it doesnt take a lot of excersize to get me in shape so it would probobly tone me up some, but for a lot of people i dont think it would do much at least thats how it sounds.

I said "like me" as I'm one of those that does exercise however due to work and other factors can't always get to the gym, plus I don't like gyms generally speaking.. so.. it would be "right up my alley".

Tho' I have other expenses and purchases to make first... so it isn't high up on my list and I will also wait to hear reviews etc.

I want a Wii! But I'm looking into getting my vintage Sega Genesis first. Heh.

The only way I would get the Wii if Joss Whedon came down from the heavens with a new Buffy game and said 'You there on your ass! Get up. Play the Wii.'
