Default How do u get out of bed?

Every time I wake up I go back to sleep a couple of times before eventually getting up. I never seem to be able to wake up and just get out of bed straight away. I really enjoy falling asleep again. I think it might be because most days I don't have all that much to do so getting out of bed isn't much of a priority.
    It sucks tho.

Trade you. I can't get back to sleep. I've had 20 hours of sleep total in 5 days.

I set multiple alarms. I've been known to turn my alarm off without even really waking up. I set the first alarm about 30 min before I need to wake up and I space another two or sometimes three over the next half hour. I also put the last alarm or two farther away from my bed, like on a dresser or near the door to the bathroom. I have to very gradually wake up in the morning and even then I'm still somewhat groggy.

    3 things:

It got way easier to get up when I started taking chickweed, which I guess improves my thyroid functions (I mean, there is some controversy about that, but it's working for me).

When I do vitamin B shots I go from sleeping 10 hours to sleeping 7 hours. I do B complex, not B12.

Just recently I decided to be a grown up and get up at 10am every day no matter what. I'm waking up before the alarm every day! It's so cool! I tried this before and it didn't work, so I think I needed the chickweed and B vitamins to get to the point where this would work.

I always wake up around 10 and have a glass of water and stretch around a little and then fall back asleep till around 12. I too love to fall asleep again. I'm so cranky if I get up the first time I wake up.

^^^ I'm the exact same way, except I usually get up b/c I have to go to the bathroom. I'll stay up for a little bit and then go back to snoozing. Ahhhh, sleeep. Lubs it.

I put my alarm clock across the room so I have to get out of bed to turn it off instead of just reaching to the nightstand. Most mornings it works, but I do sometimes sit back down on my bed - just for a second - and fall asleep sitting up.

I set my phone alarm and then throw myself out of bed and immediately make a big cup of the strongest tea I have. Usually works.

If I'm tired, I don't get out of bed. For anythign. Not for school, not for work, not if the house is on fire. I cannot wake up. I have always had issues getting out of bed. When I was in nursing school, my professor actually had a call list for me. Students had to take turns calling me every morning to make sure I woke up for class. Sometimes one student who lived close by would come over and knock on my bedroom window. It's not that I dont want to get up..it's that I simply ignore everythign and my brain starts making these crazy excuses in my half sleep. Sometimes I even startto dream I woke up, got a shower, ate breakfast...then I realyl do wake up and realize I'm still in bed and have slept in.

Lately I have been trying to sleep on a regular schedule, I go to bed at 6am and set my alarm for 2pm. Usually I get up between 2:30 and 3pm. My alarm goes off several times before I try to force myself up. When I get out of bed I go straight to the fridge, pour a glass of pepsi, sit down in front of my computer and check my email while smokign a cig. It takes me abotu a half hour before I'm actually coherent.

I have a morning class that I slept through three times in a row. I think my meds might have something to do with that, so I've moved my one alarm clock so I have to get out of bed to turn it off and then I'll set the one on my phone which goes off a few minutes later. I think it takes me like an hour to fully wake up. Sometimes I wish I could stay in bed all day.

    1. I look at the alarm with the "Are you fucking serious?" look
    2. I say something along the lines of "This is some bullshit"
    3. I slowly roll out of bed and turn off the alarm still calling it names
    4. I pee (which is harder for men when they first wake up...if you get what im saying)
    5. I brush my teeth and mouthwash - Usually wakes me up pretty good before I take my shower

I think it's me feeling guilty that I am lazy. I sleep a lot. 9-10 hours usually.
It's prob coz other people - mum, boyfriend - comment on it.

I need to get one of these alarm clocks that can jump off your nightstand and roll away so you have to chase them to shut them off. I'd be cursing at it the whole time chasing it too.

I'm going to definitely look into vitamin B shots. My morning grogginess is out of control. My bf just jumps up after 8 hours of sleep at goes to work. I'm suicidal in the morning when I have to get up. My head pounds and I feel sick and ache a lot. It takes a few hours for me to feel better.

I'm achey and awful in the morning too, but I just tell myself I have to get up-sounds stupid but it works. At least when I am not ill and have to go to class.

What does SSRI stand for? I'm on Seroquel.

ssri = selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. its a class of antidepressants

Seroquel is not one of them. I believe its a neuroleptic but I'm not about to break out the psychology texts this late.

seroquel is an anti psychotic in higher doses. In lower doses it manages anxiety.

My doc has me on 200mg for depression and anxiety. Part of my problem is I take it before I go to bed, so if I go to bed at 4, I can't get up at 8.

im not surprised if you're on seroquel. my doctor tried me on that and i literally could not keep my eyes open the next day. it made me way too drowsy.
    I only had 25mgs too.

But it is given in very high doses such as 800mgs to treat shizophrenia as it also works as an anti psychotic.

I tell myself that if I don't wake up and get to the gym, traffic coming back will be a bitch and I'll be pissed that I didn't get anything else done. Then, I roll out of bed and sit on the couch for a bit before I shower and have breakfast.
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
