Default a rant about tipping the club employees

Why is it that the club employees that work off of dancer tips so often think they should get more than the minimum tip for doing less than the minimum work? that they are somehow entitled to the money I make off of prancing around naked, doing lap dances, and dealing with customer bullshit all night? If I have a good night, that money belongs to ME, because I worked hard for it. If someone actually does something for me that helps me out or make me money, I will give them extra for it. But I'm not going to go around throwing my money around willy nilly at people who dont' help me, hoping that somehow it will come back to me.
Seriously-support staff chooses to work in a strip club. if they don't like the money they are making they are free to find a job they like better, or maybe shape up and actually do what they supposed to be doing in the first place!!

Luckily, I've never had much of an issue with this but yea... I think that's a large part of why they work for the club anyways. They generally make minimum wage and I can't imagine that it's a huge boon for their resume. Naked chicks handing them cash? Yea, most aren't in it for any other reason.

I don't like the fact that I have to tip the house mom. I don't eat the food she brings in usually and if I do, I'll tip her. I don't use her services for hair and makeup but if I need a dress hemmed for instance, I'll pay her. I do not think there is any valid reason why I should tip her when I don't even see her for barely five minutes. I'm paying her for nothing. I'm an extremely self-sufficiant dancer, I generally do not require assistance...why should I tip out that which I don't need?

I get mad when I get hooked up by a bouncer, which last time I checked is what he is supposed to do......and he expects a BIGGER tip.
Excuse me? (The standard tip around here is 20%) You want MORE because you did YOUR JOB??
The last time this one bouncer tried to pull that shit....I told him to take off his clothes and dance for it

WORD..and I hate it when you ask them to do something for you that's part of their job and they deny it...only to come running when you say "I guess you don't want to make more money." Totally happened to me last Friday and when she came running for the 10 I was going to tip her I picked up the stack of ones (counted out already in groups of $20) and walked away. Fuck you bitch, if you don't want to do your job I won't even THINK about tipping you. And the next time you get me free tap water, I'm not tipping you then either.

I do find that many people want tips just for simply doing their job, and will get shitty if they don't feel it is enough. I don't tip the employees insane amounts of money. I stuff a couple of bucks into the bartenders jar every night and tip my DJ anywhere from 10-35 bucks depending on my night. Occassionally I tip the waitresses if they try to sell my drinks for me, and the bouncer (who I tip well, but on occassion, because he always walks me to my car, offers to warm it up in the winter and has scraped the snow off of it) I would be pissed if they acted entitled to more money. It is a TIP and I still tell guys thank you if they even give me a dollar more than the price of the 20 dance. Anyone that complains about my tip will find their tip dissappears.

I tip well. I make more when I tip well. When my customers come in or guys with money come in I am pointed to them as soon as theyre in the door. When a VIP group comes in with money Im taken and introduced to them.

ALL the bouncers know me, they all like me. When I came back to the club after 6 months off I didnt know 1/2 the new bouncers. I introduced myself, said if you send me to money I will give you 10% off the top. You bet your ass Im the first one they look for when money walks in. I am one of the few girls that get special treatment. This club has lots of girls and its good to be known and well liked by bouncers, management, djs, bartenders and waitresses (except one).

Tipping well works for me. Ive been hearing that the average at this club is $300-400 a night. Mine is double and sometimes triple that. Its worth the extra tips because in the end I make more.

I tip the DJ shit. He gets what I make on the main stage and since Im busy all night Im usually only on once very early and he gets like five bucks... I only tip those that can help my money more - aka bouncers/bartenders

i tip my one dj well he dl's stuff for me i want and always knows what to play me depending on my mood without asking and skips me if i am making money on the floor. the other one has shit music collection and doesnt do dick for me so he gets minimum.

my floor guy if he gets me a champagne room ill give him an extra 10 for each half hour i get, but if not, he gets 5 for a walk out at the end of the night.

my housemom only works the weekends and i love her and she does a great job so i tip her well also.

It's always good to tip your support staff. I know when I'm bartending, if I see a guy with a stack of hundreds in his wallet while he's paying for his drinks, I know I'm going send him a girl who I know is going to take care of me for the extra help of pointing her in the right direction. Otherwise, what is my incentive? Why should I care who he spends money on? I agree with AudreyLeigh 100%. When I danced, I always made sure I took care of the floorguy and the bartender well and they always pointed me in the direction of big spenders, if it worked out and I made money, I took care of them. I took care of the DJ when I asked to be skipped for a while when I was busy hustling on the floor.

I'm not saying you should tip for nothing...but little things like that where people go out of their way to help you are different. It makes your job somewhat easier, takes out guesswork, and makes it more pleasant for everyone. If everyone makes some money, everyone is happy.

True story: Guy at the bar tells me how he won thousands at casino earlier, and takes a seat at a table. The dancers all ignore him because he looks young and broke. I pull one dancer aside and give her the inside scoop, 5 mins later they are in the CR for the rest of the night. Did she tip me? Nope. Did I ever help her again? Nope. Chances are, she would've never talked him at all.

Yup. From my experience its actually bartenders/waitresses that have a better scoop on the money than bouncers/hosts. In that situation I would have given you 10%.... and I'll guess next time you'd have sent them my way again. Its like some girls shoot themselves in the foot...they get friggen greedy. They just dont get it.

At my club, you have to tip the DJ 10% of everything (!) you make, whether you made $50 or $5000. He's doing the same amount of work either way. Actually, when you're making money by being back in the VIP room, the only thing he does for you is find a cover for your stage set, and you're charged $10 for that!!! The $10 is supposed to go to the girl who covered your set, but it often doesn't. He is also responsible for calling your waitress back to your room to announce the end of your time, and he is often late. You're in VIP for 40+ minutes when the guy paid for 30 I should start wearing a watch. Then you have to WAIT for the waitress to come back and close the tab so you can encourage him to tip HER 20% of the drink tab AND the funny money he spent on you! If she brought you 2 drinks and you were there for a half hour, she expects 20% of $250 (your funny money) + $60 (the room fee) + $20 (drinks) + $20 (bouncer pay off we also have to encourage) = $350. $70 to bring two drinks and be late! The pressure is on you as the dancer to coax the guy to tip her. Then he sees how much he spent for a half hour and they are PISSED.

We have four stages, so you are assigned to a "set" of girls who request similar music (hip hop set, alternative set, heavy metal set, techno set, etc) so you don't get to request the music you want, per se. You often won't get the genre you request. Neither DJ (weekday or weekend guy) will put me on the hip hop set EVER because I can't shake my ass standing up - but I do laying down and can put on a good show. But I really like hip hop and I BEG to be on that set. Doesn't matter. They always put me on the butt rock set and play fucking KMFDM, Rammstein, and Garbage for me - I don't even look like a rocker girl! I'm super girly! My town is super hip hop, and when the weekend crowd is there, they don't want to hear corny white dude rock. I'll be up there looking perfect, and will make $20, then some girl who (no ego here) doesn't look as good as me or dance as well gets up there to hip hop and dudes will make it rain on her. They don't even want dances! They just want to make it rain because they like THE SONG, not the girl. That's one of the biggest reason I don't work weekends, because the money to be made is on the floor by dancing onstage to hip hop and making hundreds in ones from young guys who think they're rap stars, the opposite of the weekdays, when the money is in VIP from old white men.

I had to tip the housemom last Thursday her minimum $10 after she let some girl get in my face and tell me she was going to kick my ass because her customer liked me! The only thing the housemom did was to tell ME get away from the girl who was causing the problem!

Not to mention the house fee is $40-90! And they take 15% of your funny money and charge the guy an extra 15%!!! So just for running the credit card, the house charges the guy $115 and you get $85 and the guy thinks he's giving you $100! OH! If the guy disputes any of his charges with the credit card company and wins, YOU HAVE TO PAY THE CLUB BACK!

Fuck, I want a normal job.

That's fucked up beyond all reason. Once she made the sale, you were nothing but chopped liver. I hate people like that!

I always take care of people who take care of me. One time, a bouncer pointed me to a dude with a terrible asian fetish who came in looking for an asian looking latina he had seen last night. She wasn't working that night, so I approached him and he took me to the champagne room right away. Even after that, he didn't want to let me go and took me to the atm to get a huge stack of twenties. So I did well off of him, and I didn't forget the bouncer either. When he looked at how much the bill was that I placed in his hand, he literally said, "Thank you so much, God bless you mama!" lol.

People who feel entitle to my money will get minimum, if nothing. Those who are genuine about it get hooked up big time by me.

I always tip, although not always as generously as the big baller in the fur coat in the corner. If I order a drink or ask a waitress to run some errand for me, she's gonna get a few bucks. If she helps me make money, she can expect a lot more, depending on how much I made, how much she did to help me make it, and how good of a mood I'm in. NEVER stiff someone who handles your drinks. I learned this the hard way watching this greedy ass waitress (who at the time was my best friend ) SPIT in a few shots and yes she was fired. But God only knows how many times she got away with it before she was caught.

Shit... I'm almost glad to have nearly given up on the idea of stripping ATL. I thought they just don't like non-local strippers around here, I guess they don't like any of us!

    -end threadjack-

I take good care of my DJs, based on how much I make. I mostly work in smaller clubs where I do most if not all of my own hustling. The most help I can use is from the DJ playing either just what I ask him to, or something just as good if I don't ask for anything particular.

I once left a club because of a bouncer with an attitude about what he got tipped. A guy who never steered me to money, wasn't that great about actually protecting me from handsy dudes, and was extremely slow about getting around to walking me out. Fuck that shit. I heard after I left that another girl left over him to. Apparently, when asked why he didn't respond appropriately to a guy grabbing her ass on stage, he replied that that girl didn't tip him enough for him to take care of her. And of course, he was buddy-buddy with the one extras girl in the club. I guess she was tipping him well. Or with handjobs.

like stated above most people in the club are making minimum wage (except normally the bartender) and they think that just by being there deserve a tip. aside from management and the bartender at my club im the only one whos making over 12/hr for base pay, the other bouncers are only making 8-9/hr and think that the girls should be paying them, NOT the club. im the guy whos walking dancers out, holding an umbrella in the rain, clearing off snow and getting tipped. im the guy watching everyone coming in & whats going on, remembering big spenders, directing customers to certain dancers and getting tipped. some of the other guys cant figure out why they get crap tips and some dancers cant figure out why i don't bend over backwards to help them. help and get a tip, tip and youll get help. its pretty simple.

^^ Hey, if I'm making enough to support it, I tip everyone more than the minimum.

But here's some math from that same club: If I only gross $140 in a shift, and I have to pay the club $40 of that, and the minimum DJ tip out is $10, and there are two bouncers with a $5 apiece minimum tip out and one manager with a $5 minimum, and there are 20 freaking girls on, I'm not really too worried about tipping out all that support staff who are making more than I am for me taking off my clothes without actually doing a damn thing.

If its slow, I'm going to take care of who takes care of me first, and that's it. I'm there to make money, just like everyone else.

Like everyone is saying, tipping people extra who actually help you makes plenty of sense. However, support staff who think "these girls make so much money for doing nothing" and think they deserve extra of our money just because we did well (no thanks to them) should get nothing!
To the bartender who posted above- thats fucked up. if the bartenders or waitresses hook me up, I'll hook them up, usually 10%.
