Default people that assume dancers are rich

Maybe this is a useless topic but how do you guys deal with a customer who looks you up and down and says, "but you gotta do pretty good here". I've had this happen with guys who ran out of or just never planned to spend. I'd ask them if I'm "not dancing well enough" (or for dances on the floor) and they tell me they ran out of change. So I suggest that they "make a down payment" but they come up with more reasons then as if to justify it they infer that I already banked that night just because I look good in lingerie.

I told one jerk off who spent everything then sat there broke and drinkless two nights in a row and I remembered his name that no, I'm actually gettin ready to move to a new area. His face dropped and I told him that next year I need to "go to community college" work has been so bad (just a lie!!!). He was flabbergasted!!

While that line amused me momentarily, I knew there was no money to hustle. Is there a cute way to get a guy like this who's done tipping on stage to hand over the remaining $ in dances? When I've watched these "lazy tippers" and they will break larger bills at the bar and probably leave with several more but they just don't get that I'm working.

I say that I only make money when people buy dances.

There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.

Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

when a guy who is not spending money (hasn't given me anything) says that to me i say:

"here's an example day for me. multiply what you've given me so far by the number of men in the room............"

then i wait for him to do the math. usually they start to look akward at this point. i interrupt the silence with "get it?" and a cute smile...

sometimes they start spending and sometimes they go "oh but i'm sure there are a lot of suckers/guys who'll spend tons on you tonight" to which my normal reply is "no honey, there are a lot more guys who will say to me exactly what you just said".

Once they start talking like that, it's a sure sign of a timewaster. I would just get up and leave. I don't think that's a very good idea, to tell a customer that other customers will probably not spend on you. Hardly anybody spends out of guilt or pity. The cheap idiots don't deserve a second more of your company.

I'm with AznExtasy on this one. As satisfying as the witty comebacks are, a guy who's going to say shit like that is saying that his lack of money is a waste of your time. Maybe he'll get a dance or two out of pity, if you spend a few more minutes wheedling him, but you could be spending that time talking up a guy who wants to go to VIP with you.

Here's what I say to those guys: "You know, you're right. I'm going to go now, and fnd one of those guys who will spend on me, since you obviously can't afford my time." There's my one witty remark, goodnight, cheapie.

or, i say, "yeah ... thanks to guys like you! wanna get started? i'm all fresh/so horny/just getting warmed up... etc"

if they continue, i insist i don't make that much money, and actually tonight has been really slow, but it's so great to find someone who likes me!

but, most of the time, this is not a genuine conversation piece, just a way for them to make an excuse for not spending money ... in which case i excuse myself.

i've got different things i say depending on my mood, either like pretty penny or sasha. i try to keep it like sasha, cos most guys are stupid and really don't get it. i've learned that it's better to tell them what they want to hear, usually.

the tough thing about this topic is that some guys will spend, some won't. but the ones who do, some want to be the amazing customer who made your night, and others only want you if you don't need them. i'm looking for something to say to figure out which response they want to hear.

I've mentioned many times I'm really cheeky, yeah?

"OH MY GAWD! I totally make so much money! Yesterday I was actually able to pay my electricity bill! It was amazing!! I am so rich, I even buy CREAMY peanut butter now baby. If only one more person buys a lapdance, I'll be rich enough to buy bread to go with it!!" And I look up with dreamy hopeful starry eyes and sigh.

Sometimes I play the whole "I'm making a shit load of money cause I'm the best dancer here" attitude and it actually makes me more. It's hard to get it rolling though.

Other times I will just be like "Well I can only dance once a week because I'm so busy with school and so I try very very hard to make as much as I can so I don't have to go more into debt."

Hehe, I like that one Lysondra. And it gives them the opportunity to laugh along and realize they should tip/ buy dance for my good personality or to go the other way and accuse me of being rude or mean which is the tell tale sign of a time waster. You know, the ones that expect me to make it up to them for my behavior or something. And I like Penny's math equation because it's fun to make custies look stupid sometimes. I'm just afraid too many just won't get it. Ya know, like them hollerin and whistling while I'm on stage isn't enough compensation for my time.

I also hate when you'll have like 40 bucks or so in your garter/stripper purse (for those of you who keep your money with you), most of it is singles, and a customer will see it and say something stupid like "Damn, look at all that money!" or "Hey there, high roller" or some other STUPID similar comment.

I had a HORRIBLE night last night, and as I was going around to tables trying to get some last minute dances, I ended up chatting with a guy for a few min. He said no to a dance, and I decided I was done for the night. So as I am getting up I grabbed my $$ out of my ankle-strap rubberband money holder, so I could go tip the DJ and get out. He sees the money (which was a whole measly 50$, mostly in 5's and ones) and goes "DAMN, GIRL! You made a killing tonight, huh? See, you don't need a dance from me...you should sit here and drink with us"

    Grrr

^^Why didn't you "accidently" stomp him in the nuts? I would've. Sorry, but it's these little remarks that really grinds my gears. Or even worse, I've had guys reach over and feel the money on my garter, saying how I "Did so well". I'm ready to break a wrist next time one of these assholes tries to do this with me.

Whenever they say that and I'm dead broke (have like $40 in ones), I'll offer to trade them what's in my garter for what's in their wallet.

    Oddly, they always refuse.

I hate it even MORE when they ask how much I make! I understand the intrigue/interest, but I usually just give a range,or if I feel like being pissy I just say, "I do well. I'm happy.I really don't feel like you need to know that, anyway."
