Default Who ISN'T afraid of Ouija boards?

I really don't think something negative has the power to come through a $9.99 Parker Bros. game anymore than it has the power to come through a thought or swinging a pendulum or anything else.

What's so special about the Ouija, really? I think the scary power of the Ouija has more to do with all the "legend" around it more than anything inherent to the board game.

So who isn't afraid of the Ouja? I was thinking of getting some old wooden ones and using them as wall decorations

it is all bullshit...you start thinking stuff up in your mind, and then you think it is reality..but it's bullshit...

Plus - I asked the board if I was going to marry Vida Guerra, it moved to yes...Well guess what, that was 3 years ago...that is some bullshit!....

The board by itself is relatively harmless, it is merely a tool to allow interaction between us and them and the cup or glass is an amplifier. A simple analogy is that of a car, relatively harmless when turned off and sitting in your driveway. When you put someone inexperienced behind the wheel is when the potential for danger increases.

Now I'm not saying that experienced people don't have accidents... far from it but the more you know what you are doing, the chances of accidents occurring reduces.

If you are not very experienced, research as much as you can before using a board

Try to find a group that can teach you how to use the board safely. The best board to use is 1 that you have made yourself. Whenever possible use a thick walled shot glass as an amplifier. Keep a black cloth (large enough to cover the board and glass completely) nearby. If the glass jumps/shakes and or rattles about the place cover with your black cloth and walk away. If the glass cracks, immediately cover with your black cloth and move out of the room. Leave it for a couple of hours before going back to it. Wrap the glass in a piece of black cloth and bury it. If the glass shatters... get out of the house as fast as you can. Keep your mouth closed and slowly and continuously exhale through your nose until you are out doors. You and your companions scatter each in a different direction. Immediately contact a church and ask to see the priest. Tell the priest everything that happened leave out no detail. They will handle it from there
Any pleasure I would get from being able to give myself a blow job, would be completely negated by the fact that there a guy was sucking my dick.

It's a piece of cardboard. I used to use them as decoration.

I am not afraid of them, but then again I don't believe in magic, spirits, demons, or gods. I do believe human minds are imperfect. Id guess the Ouija board is most likely due to the ideomotor effect ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ideomotor_effect ) The only thing I find dangerous about them is the impact on people which are already very quick to believe in all kinds of things, except the fallibility of their own brains.

    What xdamage said.

I have one though, its a beautiful wooden glossy one, with stunning artwork on it. I just consider it a nice thing to have as an orniment. Its ok to pull out at parties I s`pose as long I keep my mouth shut as I have a habit of ruining the moment

its like anything in the occult genre. if you know how to use it and have the ability you can get a "scary" result.

I think the better question might be, who IS afraid of Ouija boards?

Really, I'm all for the occult, paranormal and everything else. But to believe that a mass marketed children's toy has the potential to channel it...

What xdamage said. But don't get me started on my phobia about Monopoly, known in the toy industry as "Satan's Portal."

I think it's a silly little game. I'm not afraid of it, nor do I resally ever want to play it.

I just googled the toy to check what it was. The only point I shall make is that if you wanted to use a toy as a serious ouija board of course you could. Plenty of people use even cheaper things, you could make one out of garbage if you wanted to.

However if you were serious in the art of it, you wouldn't be using a toy anyway.

Plus I don't believe they work.

Ouija boards were fun when I was in late primary-early middle school and wanted to screw with other people's mind and wanted them to think I was "bad". Other than that, I don't feel they have served any useful purpose in my life.

i remember at my 13th birthday party we made an ouija board and tried to contact people like princess diana or kurt cobain etc. and we'd all just sit there pushing the glass around and squealing like idiots. haha.

I was just saying - but I dont think you can assume what people would and wouldnt use. Its just a board, it doesnt have to be expensive and special.

Btw, I dont use them, just have an interest.

If they intend to use it in an actual serious fashion, in a true attempt and not just some friends get together and screwing around to see what happens scenario...

I sure as hell am assuming they are using something a bit more plausible than a toy. Considering they really don't work... yeah.

Not afraid here either. Then again I'm not afraid of the mystical or occult in general. I've been told I naturally have a protective light around me. I believe it as well because all the supernatural experiences I have had have been either interesting or positive.
