    Default transportation= bicycles?

I haven't started yet but i was seriously contemplating transportation issues... I ride my bike (and sometimes the bus) everywhere, all the time.

Is this a really bad idea? I know some people walk or take a bus, and that seems just as risky as bike-riding in an urban-ish area. Between given clubs and given home, the distance is about 3 miles, more or less.

    Any advice?

depends on the 'territory' you'll have to ride through between your home and your club, the time of day you'll have to ride through it, the likelihood of club customers hanging around to hassle / stalk you at closing time etc. Personally there's no way that I would risk it.

For 3 miles I would catch a cab.

For safety reasons, no matter where your area is, take a cab. Especially if you'll be leaving work late at night.

I doubt your club would even let you ride your bike home! Total bad security. Cab it.

Bikes are great for day-to-day stuff, but not for riding home from a strip club at three in the morning. Definitely take a cab if you don't have a car. Your life is worth the expense.

take a cab. I have to go 10 miles to work and I still take one. Public transportation is good for getting there if it's still light out, but taking a bike is a safety issue as well as it messes up your hair/makeup and you get all sweaty!

I'm one of those who might chance it if you're going through a lot of busy neighborhoods during the day and can be really aware of your surroundings. At night, though, I agree, cabbing it is the way to go.

ok. I think the verdict is, i should take a cab. It makes me a little nervous, but i guess it's better than being out on the street.

I'd trust the bike and my own intuition more than a cab driver. But I'm highly paranoid.

BTW, just a reminder that cabs aren't 100% foolproof either. When you find a good cabbie you trust, might be worth it to call him or her personally. I have heard some horror stories about strippers being harassed, solicited, and even raped by cab drivers, so be sober and on your guard.

I'm about to start and I'm having an assload of transportation problems too. The clubs are all in the next town 40mins away, so for now it looks like I have to get two buses there, and then the train home when I get off work. It's seriously putting me off

Do you have any friends that could drive you in exchange for some gas $ etc? I have a friend who lazes around the entire time, pretty much just living off an allowance from her bf, and I'm considering "employing" her to take me to/from work. Maybe you could do something like that? I think a bike would be ok heading to work, but I'd be worried someone could easily rob you on the way home.

YIKES!!!! no bicycles to the SC! that's potentially very unsafe. I ride my duc to work but would never contemplate a bicycle... you have too much stuff to take, too- which'll load you down and make you slower. cars are safe, moto's are fast, bicycles aren't either of those things. someone wants to overtake you & they'll succeed.

Look around and see if you can locate a driver. I know clubs used to have drivers for like $15 a day. That was back in the 90's, though. Maybe with the high gas prices it'll make a comeback?
