    Angry Hammertoes

Ahhh ever since I started dancing full-time (for over a year now), I have developed these nasty little hammers on both of my ring toes. Its like a freaking bent knuckle on both of them. I have the best little feet ever minus these damn hammers, so I really want to get them back to their state of perfection. Anybody know any way to get rid of this? Or am I fukt?

site says you should try some streaches and exercises... apparently, it's caused by the muscles in your toes stiffening from improper footwear... kinda like when your achieles (spelling?) tendon shortens from too much high heel wearing. Who'd of thunk it?

    Maybe that will help?

I have the same problem on my fourth toes as well, but more so my left foot. Last year I went to a podiatrist and he said the problem stemmed from improper placement of weight, and gave me orthotics because the problem will only get worse, apparently. I did notice a slight improvement, but need to go back for a checkup. I actually have yoga toes on right now! First time I've worn them in ages, but Summer is almost here, and I want healthy toes!

Going to a podiatrist wouldn't hurt. Also, wearing shoes that are roomier, more supportive and don't rub may help. With hammer toes, solving the problem is retraining your toes to fall flat instead of curving. I've seen toe straightening products that are either like toe splints or a sleeve online, not sure how well they would help.
