    Default Pregnant and dancing

not sure if this is where Im supposed to post this, but here goes anyway. So my bf and I recently found out we are pregnant. Im scared, freaked out, excited, all of these emotionals rolled into one, not to mention harmonal and freakin crazy

Anyways, I have a very supportive, caring, loving, wonderful bf/baby daddy in the picture who just recently bought us a house (speeding up the process of everything) and is taking extra shifts at his job to prepare for the baby. He makes me smoothies n salads at night when Im hungry, goes to dr apts with me, and reads baby stuff with me daily.... and is planning on being totally supportive of the whole thing...

The question I have is, how long did u girls dance when u found out u were preg? Or did u dance at all??

I believe I am only 4-5 weeks, I will find out on the 15th for sure, and want to work the next month or two to put some money up for a rainy day...

Or did yall work other jobs when u found our you were preg???

Thanks for all of your replies!!! Im totally new to all of this and have no clue what to do?!? Im freaked out by this, but kinda excited...

If I were pregnant.... there would be no chance in hell I'd dance, even if I was only a couple of weeks a long.

Ever seen Dr. Masaru Emoto's study on water molecules? Since we're mostly water, we're affected by thoughts and feelings in our surrounding environment. If it's just me, I feel like I can counteract the negativity associated with a stripclub, but if there's another soul, another body inside me that I'm supposed to protect, there is no way I would subject their developing body to a negative environment. I'm super spiritual, but that's just my belief.

Also, wearing high heels tilts your pelvis at an angle that makes miscarriage more likely to happen, and being in a place full of smoke is not good for baby. If it's a smoke free club and you can get away wearing 3-4 inch heels and sitting down as much as possible, then it might be okay.

Thanks for your opinion, and Ive definately considered being around the negative enviornment... Im very tired lately and extremely emotional so im guessing the titty bar doesnt help.. haha

but Yes, I can buy off stage, the djs where I work are pretty cool.. and my heels are pretty short.. 4 inches if that... And I mostly sell VIPS and good custys who come in on a regular basis to see me...

The girls at my club usually dance until 4-5 months or so, except for a couple who danced until about 7 months, and one who danced until 8 months, then waitressed until she gave birth!

Personally, I would dance until I was showing, unless I could afford not to.

I worked in a high volume, table dance club until I was 19 weeks. I would have worked longer, but management thought it was time for me to go. Not only was my doctor aware of my line of work, but he encouraged me to keep doing all normal activities--including work and working out--as long as I was comfortable.

Gypsy74--I'd like to know where you're getting the information that wearing heels can lead to a miscarriage??

How do I put this politely...take anything Gypsy74 writes in regard to health or medicine with, a massive fucking grain of salt.

Months ago she advised a poster seeking advice about pregnancy termination to take massive doses of Vitamin C and take a bunch of herbs. Going so far as claim that an abortion administered by an MD was harmful.

That being said, I don't have any kids, so I would personally just avoid a smoky environment and working myself into the ground.

    Congrats!

Personally, I wouldn't dance while pregnant.. I wouldn't want to be around the smoke and the bullshit. To each her own though. Congratulations either way

Congrats! When I found out I was preggy I never went back. I stopped right then, but I work in a smoky, stage heavy club AND I was super protective. I am not necessarily into the water/negative thought theory per se, but I did want to be as ultra healthy as possible and was very diligent about it. I went and got a job in a spa! Free prenatal massage and pedicures!!

BUT, with that all said, if I got pregnant again, I think I'd end up working a bit further. Only because, I don't know how to say it, I guess it isn't all so monumental the second time? I don't know. I just wouldn't feel as super anal about it all. Not for that long, but I'd maybe do a few shifts here and there during the 1st tri. maybe come in for regulars or something...

Pregnancy is not an illness so if you want to continue what you have already been doing don't stop. I was into horses big time when I had my children, my doctor said if I feel comfortable and happy don't stop just because I was pregnant. I even competed and won trophies right up until the 2 weeks before giving birth and was winning competitions again a week after.
As far as appearance and the baby bump goes it does vary from person to person. I didn't really show until 5 months but I had a freind that was huge at 4 months. It's just like anything else to do with your looks in this industry- there will always be an arsehole who doesn't like it and will happily make you feel like shit telling you so, and there will also be the guys who love it and will happily pay.
It's your body, your life, and your baby- do what feels right for you, and stick to this rule after you have had baby also.

If you research herbal pregnancy termination you will actually see that it's been used FOREVER, before "medical" abortions even started. The native americans used herbs for contraception and there is nothing quacky about that.

I think it's safe to say you should take ALL medical and health advice ANYONE on this board says with a massive "fucking" grain of salt, because most of us are not doctors

Gyspy's right, massive doses of vitamen C can cause a miscarriage, but lots of C can also be very, very harmful.
    So youre both right-ish.

But anyway...when I was dancing a few years ago,one of the girls was pregnant. She claimed to be only two-three months along, and wasn't exactly showing, but she did have that tiny bump and thickening at the waist that happens at that stage.

I was surprised how many customers actually noticed, and the few complainers just said they felt"gross" watching a pregnant women strip.
    Most didn't seem to care.

i don't see what's wrong with dancing till you show. i had a scare last month, and that's what i would have done.

as for after you show, look up the info in other work, especially the phone sex operator (pso). i did it before i started stripping, and i think it's a great job. there's other info in there about working from home too, though.

if you're comfortable with it, you might want to ask your manager about being a doorgirl or something.

I quit as soon as i found out, mostly because i was totally burnt out anyway and because we could afford for me to do so.
But honestly i personally wouldn't feel right, enticing and rubbing up against other men while i had the man i loves child in my belly. (PS I WAS SUPER HORMONAL HAHA)

I quit as soon has I found out. I did not want to take the chance of falling or anything that might hurt the baby.

    Congrats!

I'm obviously not a doctor; but I'm sure the only thing you would have to worry about is falling from risky dancing or pole tricks. And the smoke isn't good either, of course, but if I still wanted to work I wouldn't let that stop me honestly.

(Congrats!!!! I want another one sooo bad but I must keep my legs shut )

I took care of a young lady while I was in training. She danced until she was about 8 months along and according to her, totally banked. Whether guys found the engorged preggo boobies hot or just felt sorry for the naked pregnant chick was never determined.

As far as harmful, being pregnant can distort your sense of balance and increase the risk of falls, but the physical activity should not cause a problem unless you have a high risk pregnancy. Your OB can guide you as to how much physical activity is considered safe based on the parameters of your health, your work environment and the general health of your pregnancy.

I danced until I was 20 weeks. You still couldn't tell I was pregnant but I felt like I "looked" pregnant and wasn't comfortable dancing anymore. My doctor also knew what I did, and encouraged me to continue to do my normal activities as long as I was comfortable. I did fall once; I was walking down the stairs to get off the stage and tripped. I landed on my knees and about gave everyone who knew I was pregnant a heart attack, but I was fine. (I was also wearing brand new shoes, so I blame it on that). My daughter is now a very happy, healthy, smart, independent, and curious 2 1/2 year old.

    Congrats!!

I worked for about 3 months. I showed early, and I had MAJOR fatigue and nausea. All the gross men made me sick to my stomach and I worked in a high contact club. If I had to do it again and didn't have to deal with those symptoms I would probably dance a little longer. But I would ONLY dance if I felt up to it and there wasn't any second hand smoke going on. I have been lucky in that regard to dance in CA and NY where there is a smoking ban.

Normally I'm against smoking bans, even though I'm a non-smoker; but in this case I do wish SC were non-smoking in my area. I know that'd piss off the customers but I feel bad for the girls who have to work their asses off in such a smokey environment. I realize it might not phase girls who smoke, but even when I was a smoker really smokey environments got to me if I had to stay in them for prolonged periods of time.

im in ohio so we have smoking bans. depending on who i was with if i was knocked up i would still dance on the floor but would pass on the stage shows untill is tarted to show. our club cuts you off at 3 months (how they could tell i dont know) but would give you the option to be door girl or learn back bar....
