    Default Not My Problem

    Dear Dramatic Strippers,

New Rule. It's called Not My Problem.

Do not rant at me and yell at me and pull me into your dramatic little life. It's Not My Problem. Do not blame me when I don't listen. It's Not My Problem. When I can't help you, be on call on the phone for you 24/7 or pick you up from somewhere, don't yell at me. It's Not My Problem.

I am very nice to people who are nice to me. I do my best for my good friends who live their lives on their own and don't need me. Favours once in awhile, sure. Why not? I'm a good person.

But when you decide to try and bring me down, yell at me or pull me into your dramatic little life, I'm going to look at you square in the face and say 'It's Not My Problem'. And if YOU have a problem with it, take it somewhere else. I've stopped listening.

    Thank you.

    Lizzie

    Word.

I hate being guilty by association. I keep quiet at work, keep to myself, and there is a reason for that.
Somehow, someway, though... I always seem to be the victim of someone's rant about someone else. Why, why why?! I don't go out of my way to talk to anyone and still, all it takes is the slightest bit of eye contact and there it goes....it's 2 a.m. and I have drunk dramatic stripper talking shit about some other drunk dramatic stripper at me. Why me? I have never talked to you, I don't even know your name, and I don't know the person you are ranting about, it's 2 in the morning, I'm tired, I don't care!
I have even walked away in the midst of one of these rants and they follow me!
I hate when a manager asks me if I "know anything about what happened"....grrr! No, I don't! I am NOT in any way involved in the drama, I don't know what's going on! I don't even know these fucking people!
Maybe if I say "It's not my problem" while walking away next time, they'll get the point.

Yeah. This reminds me how much I love the relative dramalessness of my club. I rarely have to put up with anything besides girls bitching at the beginning of the night about whatever their boyfriend just did, and at the end of the night about how little money they made. When this happens, I get REAAAAALLLY absorbed in putting on my mascara or rubbing a spot off my shoe so that I can barely pay attention to anything else...yeah? What? Oh, sorry.

Usually someone else will come back in the dressing room in time to save me and become the next victim of the rant.

^ I think we are ALL friends with that girl. But reading this puts even my own complaining into perspective. Much needed post. Thank you

I said this to my sister today...she needed to hear it.
At work...I don't make myself very available in the DR. When I am, I pretend like I didn't hear the 15 minute long story, and they almost NEVER want to repeat it.

Honestly I wish it was just the dressing room. This is why mid shifts are the best IMO. I hate waiting till the end of the night to cash out because everyone sits around talking shit. Same with day shift ... it's the right in between where I enjoy work. Where everyone is busy and the dressing room isn't packed in case you need to go in there.

I'm anti other strippers at work lol

The worst part is that because I am standing there getting barked at, it makes me look involved. It makes management think I have something to do woth it, and whoever the "enemy" of the girl is that's trying to involve me in the drama also looks at me. I don't need someone not liking me because they think I am incahoots with the person that was talking shit about them.
I've got enough problems fending off my own haters and worrying about my own shit.

Yay! I'm one of Lysondra's good friends.... I wonder when I can cash in and ask for a favour? Hmmmm......

...and people wonder why I don't "hang out" with a LOT of the people in this industry. I'm VERY selective with the "strippers" that I do call "friends" ... not very many. I'm "friendly" with heaps... yet not actually "friends".

I sometimes think my isolation from the gossip in private party circles does me a disservice as I honestly have no idea what is being said about me by whom and when etc. I know they do talk as I've been around for ages and am not stoopid however I have no idea other than that... hmm

I try and do the same, but it has harmed me in the past, when I wasn't in the clique, and missed out on avoiding mega-drama.

All in all, Im there to make money, not friends, although I do genuinely like some of the girls Ive met.
