    Default Tricks of the Trade

I couldn't decide where to post this (Newbie Board, Body Business, here).
Here are some 'tricks' I've learned. Maybe everyone can add some. Maybe make this sticky or move it to the right place.

--blow dry new shoes to stretch them/ or worn out ones to shrink them

    --deoderant stops razor burn

--dryer sheets stop static on hair and also removes smokey odors

--a match book can be a emergancy nail file

--put layer of powder under eye before applying dark eyeshadow, than sweep away to avoid smudges from excess

--a flat iron can double as a clothing iron

    --hand/body lotion can tame frizzies

--'Hibiclens' surgical scrub is the BEST thing for razor bumps and body acne

--pencil in eyebrows, cover with lose powder, pencil in again. They wont rub or sweat off

Can't think of anymore at the moment.

Ooo I def need some "get ciggy smell outta hair" tips!

Shave legs with shaving cream and a little baby oil. NOT to be done before work of course! Makes for a super close shave.

Safety pins can easily repair broken shoes when they break at the latch. (Ony to be done in a pinch obviously a little tacky.) But just know this works very well and 3 big fat ones in a row hold better than the original latch IMO.)

After a Mystic Tan try to keep it on all day and sleep with it on. It will smell icky but will hold for sooo much longer than just keeping it on 6 hrs.

Also butt creases glow in black light from tanning beds not hitting there, underarms too so Neutrogena spray tan is very useful yet suttle to remove this and doesn't smell too shitty.

Sorry not much to contribute lol

But I 2nd the lotion to tame frizzies and deoderant trick!

OK, these are two I have never heard of before. I get bad razor burn and alot of static in the hair from living in a very dry climate.
    Gonna try them out. Thanks!

A garter twisted around ankle and under 'spike' of high heel is inconspicuous.

Bend your legs alittle in the tanning bed.

My sidekick swears by this line of thinking. She gets her nails done/goes tanning and won't shower or wash her hands for the whole day/night. I'm too much of an OCD clean freak for this but her acrylic tips last a f*ing month!

---dry off sweat with a blowdryer on cool

---clear nail polish stops a run in stockings (not really stripper tip)

---airbrush topcoat (glow in the dark) can make the narlyist nails look good in the club

---hairspray and concealer for scars and tattoos

    ---fake eyelash tips:
-use long tweezers to hold them as you apply, so you can see past fingertips.
-wait 10 to 20 seconds for glue to get tacky before applying to lid
    -remove old glue before reusing
-store in old compact/ powder container
-use a needle or toothpick to apply glue when they're 'flapping' at the corners
-hair serum, a q-tip and the curve of your finger can bring an old pair back to life

---there's ALOT of tips I learned on SW that I don't really want to claim as mine like:
-peppermint spray on nipples for perkiness
    -pussy juice behind ears

I'm working tonight I'll come back with more...

Go to a beaut supply store (Sally's if you have one near) and look for the "UV top coat" . Not only does it make your nails glow in the dark, it keeps them from turning yellow from the tanning bed. Double duty!!

    ---fake eyelash tips:
-use a needle or toothpick to apply glue when they're 'flapping' at the corners
I use the pointed end of these with a touch of glue on them to apply. Feels safer than a needle or toothpick.:

Also, when you remove the eyelashes from their holder, curve them with your fingers so they make a 'C' shape. Then the ends go right onto the corners of your eyes with less glue.

!!** ANY concealer you use on your body: Pat loose powder over it, then HAIRSPRAY over it. Seals it on for most, if not all of the night.

instead of wearing socks with your shoes to prevent nasty blisters and sores you can put some clear wound dresssing tape (found in the bandaid dept over the area that your shoe rubs. no more painful blisters!

Spray febreeze in your hair and blow dry it with cool or hot air. Both will help get the smell out.

^^^ How weird! A lot of girls on here shave with JUST baby oil and I tried that and it was rough and weird like didn't glide well. Thats why I mix it with conditioner or shaving cream. It helps keep me moisturized too.
    Sorry to hear that though!

Wow! I always shave dry before shower. Maybe, my skin is rough though. I haven't tried the blow drying Fabreeze. This is the first time I admit to using it because it's probably not very good for the hair, but I have to admit it works for the cig smell. I just can't wash my hair every day (too long, too thick, and takes too long to do).

Another thing that really works for cigarette smell, has been Lavender essential oil. It started out where I would put about 10 drops on my pillow to help me sleep, but then I noticed part of my hair wouldn't stink (the pillow part of course). So now, I put about 5-7 drops on my hands (please do not use more) and run my hands throughout my hair. My hair smelled clean and not smoky.

If your roots are greasy from washing every other day, put baby powder (lightly) and massage into roots. It will give a little lift and absorb the oil. Don't put too much or it'l be very noticeable.

Dove is the best deoderant for razorburn - it doesnt glow in the dark and its really soft.
